Anything CAN work, but nothing is GUARANTEED to work.

And it depends on what "feeds" you, too. I have some tremendous long distance friendships, because physical closeness isn't necessary for that. Heck, some people ONLY get along well when they can't trip over each other. But the kind of involving love that would make me happy with a mate, requires a lot of physicality.

I've known people who met over great distances, and eventually built themselves a fabulous love relationship; and I've known plenty who tried and failed in that effort.

its best to follow the " tank of gas" rule... and that's round trip. If gas goes up over $3.00 a gallon... time to break up.

tolls are a negative as well.

I learned that on youcheapbastard.com

I believe in it, but I am aware that very few aresuccessful. Both people have to be really committed to the process and have great communication skills and trust in each other.

Long distance relationship isn't something I'd be interested in. If it's more than 200 miles, it's a no go. I could be friends, but anything more than that is not a likely match for myself. I like to touch too much, what can I say?! whoa

do you believe in long distance relationship?

I believe a healthy relationship can survive long distance.

I do not believe a healthy relationship can be established until there is no longer any distance.

I believe most people don't really want healthy relationships, just "good enough" relationships that they rationalize into being healthier than they are.

I say if it comes to that LD with you and another go for it ...
but both need to talk about the future with one another and when that LD relationship is all done ...where will you both like to land ... your place or mine... or you travel together ...

Yes, I believe in long distance relationships. But for that there must be mutual trust and understanding.

It isn't for me. We tried. The feelings didn't go away but it takes a toll when you have to face life's challenges alone in person.

I think It's to hard on a relationship myself. I can't seem to find anyone local myself. I have a farm a teenager and a full time job barely have extra time. I can't see it being in a relationship long distance.

Nice one about the ex Daverofl

The further the better....

They can work, it depends on the individuals involved. Dating someone local carries no guarantees, however, you're more likely to find out if your partner is being unfaithful if you both live within close proximity. I personally feel that LDR's suit people who feel uncomfortable with real affection for long periods at a time. I had a couple of LDR's in the past but now wouldn't consider it. Too many factors can put paid to planned time together, the further you live apart. Sometimes you need some sugar at a moments notice
