There's a sneaky one we might begin to need a word for. With all the socio-political fracas in the world, there might be a reason to take note of "fear of having your concerns declared to be a phobia, and thus denigrated and ignored."

Just got back from the store. Why is that significant? On the way to the store my truck blew out a brake line and I lost my brakes in traffic. When I pressed the pedal and it went straight to the floor, it gave me a start. After being a mechanic all my life, I knew instantly what happened and since I don't drive on top of the car in front of me I was able to wrestle it to a stop. I am actually more concerned with what its going to take to fix it than the problem. I'm now home with my truck. I drove it home despite the lack of brakes only because my life as a mechanic taught me how to do it safely. I kept my calm and slowly limped it home. What is the phobia for fear of losing control of your vehicle? Would you have the self-control to drive it home or would it be an instant tow? Do you ever think about it when you drive? Note: The parking brake is a mechanical brake activated by a cable on most vehicles. You can use it as a brake by holding down or pulling and holding the release mechanism. As long as the mechanical brakes it is attached to are okay and your speed is slow and you have a good gap between you and the car in front of you, You can stop. As a stupid teenager I once lost my brakes doing 160 mph in a 67 Roadrunner. I used the gears to slow it and the Parking brake to get it home. It was at night with no traffic tho. Its all a matter of keeping your head when fear wants you to panic. I guess that can be said about a lot of phobias?
