How important is prevention in our daily life to take wise decisions?

Birth-control is pretty high on my list tongue2

I take precautions whenever I need to do something with electricity. Meaning I don't do anything with electricity, haha. Scares the heck out of me.

I put on protection goggles when I work with powertools, even if it's just for 1 minute.

I always wear my seat belt, even when I have to park my car 2 meters further down the road.

I pay heed to my environment when I walk from the pub to my car at night.

I don't drive when I've been drinking.

Dunno. Pretty average in that area I think. I'm not a risk-taker, but I do want to live, and not live in fear of this that and the other.

Hum tough one.

I practice safe sex.. I make sure the doors are locked..

I wear ear plugs and tinted safety glasses when running the lawn mower or doing some shredding for a friend..

I wear gloves when dealing with anything that is sharp...

Are you a preventive person?

I'm a big fan of risk management.

How important is prevention in our daily life to take wise decisions?

In "our" daily life?
It depends on the individual.
Some people can see a risk for what it is and not value the short term consequences, but can appreciate the longer term consequences, or vice versa.
Some people can't see a risk for what it is.
Some people make up risks and serendipitously prepare for others that aren't seen.
Some people make up risks and through their actions make them real, or put themselves into more risk through their preventative behavior against other risks, seen or unseen, realized or oblivious.

It's too broad a question when it's "our" daily life.

Dental care is important to me. I notice a lot when someone my age or younger has missing side teeth. It's obvious when they talk. I wonder if it's because they don't floss. I floss every single day and all original teeth.

In private life I use common sense, in business I believe in "Murphy's law".. whatever can go wrong, will go wrong. And I think a lot about that and try to have the answers for most any situation or make preemptive moves to prevent things from happening in the first place.. if that makes sense.

It has come in handy many times.

There was a time when I wasn't and it lead to a lot of problems in my life. Today, yes, I consider myself a preventative person.

It's important in our daily life to make wise decisions because that's the wise thing to do. When making a wise decision, you look at all angles. It's not an impulsive choice or spur of the moment choice. You consider the pros and cons, and also the possible outcomes of your decision. So if you are considering going for a walk, and you know it looks like rain, after considering the pros and cons of not having an umbrella, you make the wise decision to bring your umbrella to prevent unnecessary hardships of not doing so.

Thanks for your "analytical comment". It's appreciated. I prefer to read it only/ no comment

The questions are simple ones and all users understand both; they have commented in a simple way

Precaution and preventative maintenance as much as I can with majority of stuff in my daily life.

No way I'd sign off on being a "preventive person." It's too negative. I've dealt with people in the past who were so caught up in all the things they managed to avoid (because they were so clever, and so much smarter than me!), and never saw the attraction.

I guess I see it as another one of those "balance" things. I change my oil as regularly as I can manage, but I don't fastidiously follow the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedules, because that costs an insane amount of cash I don't have. I have a small umbrella in the car, but I don't carry a survival kit.

Basically, being prepared is all well and good, and I periodically kick myself for not having "prevented" something, but if I spent the time and effort required to be as "preventive" as the commercial world nudges me to be, I'd never make it out of the house.

Ummm.. I run with scissors and sharp objects in my hands..... I never look before I cross the street... and if something doesn't look good I will still take a bite out of it..... but overall I'm pretty cautious..lol

The invisible force field that prevents people from leaving past their front door to chase after someone else they just had a fight with. Urban Dictionary,

I believe precautionary or preventive measures are necessary in making life's decisions so as to avoid committing mistakes. It helps you check and balance everything before doing any actions. Think before you acthappy

I guess I am more of a preventive person but sometimes there are uncontrollable things and they just happen , we are not even totally aware that we have been controlled by some forces or the situation, just an unavoidable circumstances in life:) But it would be better if we are always in control of the situation through preventive measures.

Perhaps there should be a balance beyween prevention and givong in to impulse.
I think the way you gain wisdom is through experience.
Too much prevention can hinder you from enjoying life.
