I would use it to start a business and travel the world.

I'd do the same thing. A million isn't that much anymore these days. I'd want to live a nice good life, and that is possible provided you're frugal with it.
I would want to buy a house, something nice and small.

And yes, I would do some traveling. But at the same time I'd make sure I wouldn't overspend cause like I said, a million isn't all that much anymore.

A business, no. I'd have the freedom to do what I want to do though. Give workshops, sell/exhibit my paintings, and go on writing books.

I would buy a house with it that is situated on a nice place, like a beach, where the weather is always nice. Perhaps I will also travel to some countries with the money. I always wanted to visit India, USA and Africa..

And I will donate some money to friends and family. :)

^^^ I'd do this. I'd want to travel a little too, but keep it within my interest earnings as far as budgeting the trip. I think it would be cool to visit some of the places my Mingle friends live and meet them.

I'd buy a house for where I'd like to live. Put about $200,K in the bank and gain interest off it. But I'd definitely buy another Toyota Camry similar to my '99 Camry and go road tripping. Make sure I have my passport too!

pay the government's 40% tax on "winnings," then complain a lot about taxes, then take my time figuring out how to protect the rest.

Nice! I don't have any more recent ones right now, I'll have to have some taken.

I would learn to sail, buy a small ocean going sailing yacht and travel to warmer climes in places around the Mediterranean and beyond during the British winter months, returning home for the summer months to my new Beach side apartment where I can park my yacht.

Rescue all my children first. Hire someone and empower them to force me to exercise properly. Then go back to trying to save the rest of the world from itself, as always.

Considering it would be "Found Money"
I would buy $1 million dollars of assorted lottery tickets.

It's 'won ' money, so if buy lottery tickets with it and win will that money be won or found? laugh

Considering that I don't normally gamble (even tho I live near many casinos) anytime I have "Found Money" I feel I can lose it without actual loss.
If I use "Found Money" to gamble, any money I "win" with that money is also, to me, "Found Money" because without the original "Found Money" to take that gambling "chance" I would not "win" anything. Any "loss" I might incur from chance is only a loss of "Found Money" so I have not lost anything.

Since I don't normally possess "Found Money" I don't buy lottery tickets either. If someone gives me a scratch-off I will play it but I have never won and significant amount. If I win, I use that denomination to buy something that it covers that I would not "normally" buy.
