So here is the scenario..
Your lover your partner your husband your wife . Maybe even a close friend....are whoever whatever!!!...
Just committed ""manslaughter""..
Maybe accidentally on purpose...
Lol... perhaps the two of you go out to have a cigarette or private conversation in a dark alley let's say.. somebody approaches the two of you... words are exchanged..
A fight breaks out and your better-half accidentally kills the person.. no video cameras around no third-party Witness...
If you call the cops your partner is going to fry for sure... maybe..
Your partner is freaked out out of their mind.. panicked ,remorseful ,regretful..

Looking at you.. to tell them what to do..
So what do?.. do you rat them out to the police.?.. are do you help them hide the evidence..?.. now remember this is somebody you truly care for.. you know they would do almost anything for you...

Maybe they have small children at home..

Anyways do you drop the dime on them..

Are do you become an accomplice...
To their one-time Act of insanity...

Hmmmmmm....

Believe it or not, you should tell the truth. From what you described, I see it as an act of love or they were just trying to protect the one they love, which could be construed as self defense.

Take his wallet, and watch, (if it's worth anything), roll him into the gutter, finish your smoke. And go and have a drink at another bar.

If he is doing something wrong you should step in and do the right thing.

Just committed ""manslaughter""..

Voluntary or involuntary?
Do the double quotes represent a special manslaughter?
Are you using a legal definition, as though it's guaranteed that is what a judge would find?
Or what the cops/prosecutor would charge?

Maybe accidentally on purpose...

That would be murder, assuming "on purpose" could be proven.
Otherwise it would just be an accident.
If they did it on purpose to make it look like an accident, then it's premeditated and they're using me unwillingly as an accomplice.

Is the "somebody" that approached us someone I want dead?
Do I want that person dead and the person that would do "almost anything for" me set this up so they could kill them for me?

If you call the cops your partner is going to fry for sure

People don't fry for """manslaughter."""
Unless this is China or Russia or Mexico or something?

Looking at you.. to tell them what to do..
So what do?

Based on the simplistic details provided, call an attorney. Call an ambulance/police. Maybe not necessarily in that order.
The dead person is still someone's kid.

do you rat them out to the police.?

"Rat them out" implies I have already judged their actions.
Calling an ambulance/police for the body and calling an attorney to control the story isn't ratting them out.
No more than calling a plumber to fix a broken water pipe is ratting out my brother who "accidentally on purpose" hit it with a baseball bat.

do you help them hide the evidence..?

What evidence? You said no witnesses and no cameras.
No I don't go buy bleach, or roll up the body in a carpet and put it in my car and drive around with a dead body to dump somewhere or throw into a wood chipper.

you know they would do almost anything for you...

Anything but control themselves to a degree they don't kill someone for "words exchanged?"

To their one-time Act of insanity...

How do I know this is a "one-time Act?"
Again, is the "somebody" someone I want dead? Showing a level of premeditation and planning, especially if made to look like an accident since it might be accidentally on purpose? Should I expect this to start happening to everyone I dislike?
Or is it a case where she wanted the "somebody" to die, said so, took off her heel, and plunged it into his chest, and the guy recently had open heart surgery so the heel actually penetrated the stitches and sunk in?
Or did she say "f off and die!" then push him, he tripped and hit his head on a garbage can?

Relevant details are important.

 I think that is the commendable thing to do. The deceased might just have their own friends and family, who deserve justice/closure of some sort.

Hummm first of all if they hit them and it was manslaughter it would all depend how it happen if they would even prosecute them or not.. as long as they did not do it on purpose they may spend some time n jail but could be cleared..That is if they report it but if they leave then well you will be charged for leaving the scene and who ever was with them could be charged as well...

If they were in a dark alley and someone came at them it would be considered self defense and they would again get off.. Again unless they just leave them as if nothing happened...

Sorry it would not matter to me who did it they need to admit it and take care of it, you don't just leave anyone that died lying in the street or alley and let someone else find them..

And if they did not get out of it then I would be there for them and write/visit them all I could..

No one deserves to be left like they were a pile of trash just confess and do what is right..

Sorry my happy *** ain't going down for them and I don't look good in Orange~~~or prison stripes.....noway

Wow.. I'm definitely not letting any of you know where the bodies are buried..lol..
Hang your friend up to dry would you..
Hmmm.... not even one ....don't worry sweetheart we'll make it look like an accident and make it all disappear...
Just promise you'll never do something like this again... and by the way I can't believe the way you just throat punched that guy..
Got to tell you baby a little turned on right now....lol..wink.

Humm I would hate to know my friends/family would think I should cover up something to that extreme in the first place... noway slaphead

It is not hanging them to dry it is the right thing well unless you have friends that feel they are above what is right???whoa

Humm not much of a friend in my eyes..... I would rather not have any friends if that is the case~~~~

Heck I never allowed my own kids to lie to me why would I lie for another?

When my kids did wrong they faced the music and learned from it..

There's only one thing in this world that's worse than wrong, and that's those who turn a blind eye to it.
