Anyone who has been here a minute rolls their eyes at the "Older Woman" subject. I can hear it from here.

The historical disparity of men "in power" and younger women (and women in general) is a real and important issue of recent refocus.

I have to admit to thinking of terms like "midlife crisis", "arm candy", "gold digger", and "daddy issues" (or even "victim") when I see Grandpa and Sorority Sister together.

I'm not an Ageist..would like to think love is love between 2 "consenting" "adults" no matter what.....but.....

.....What do you REALLY think when seeing older men/younger women? Especially now? (touching up my combover and shining up my red sports car while waiting for response)

Two things:

1) My age range for me is 45 to 65, I'm 56. Preferred 50 to 57.
I don't want nor do I look at youngins.

2) I really do not care how anyone else conducts themselves. To each their own.

Older men with younger women ? Hhhmmm might be an escort or caregiver specially when he’s being pushed in a wheelchair can also be a private therapist of some sort

I have other reasons for "the range" one being I don't want to experience menopause again. I went thru it twice, no man should have to go thru menopause twice in one lifetime. (once with mom and once with X)
Plus, my midlife crisis nearly killed me (literally) so I'm past that too.

Not a jab Tom. I even agree. I have been through the hot flashes...a lot more prepared for it as an older man!!!

When I see an older man with a younger woman I think

" Cutie-pie and her father figure "
" Another shmuck out to lose everything in the divorce "
" A sex-crazed idiot waiting for a rape charge "

I know an older man nearby who adores a younger woman and their association has been going on for years. They are both well educated in arts and history and such and connect on a few levels. That's why it's been going on for years. It is absolutely normal for them to go for coffee, lunch together and she has a boyfriend who takes care of the physical stuff.

It's great for a man's ego to have some good arm candy. Simple as that.

Everyone have a chance to live their life how they want to. Definition of being free. I do not judge, myself, I stay around my age. Even around my age, finding a companion is quite hard. I encounter a bit of everything, lying being the worst, worst than cheating. Anyways, we learn by placing ourselves out there and giving us a chance. So no criticism here. Hey if we compare with other countries, there are young boys and girls looking for whatever for a chance of a better life.

Rooster you would have made a perfect bus driver. They are nice when they start, but then they get trained in spotting potential golddigers and turn cold. You would be surprised who likes to socialize with the guys when they make on average $18 to $20 an hour. When a bus driver makes it absolutely clear to you that he is a 'family man" even though you may not be encouraging him, he probably assumes you are a shady character trying to pick him up. If I could roll my eyes I would roll them at something like that.

If I only see them for a moment, I shrug my shoulders because you never know. If I observe them longer, depending on their interactions, I may think that she is strongly attracted to having the feeling of protection and provision one associates with a daddy and he may be attracted to the feeling of being needed and respected that one associates with being a parent.

Or

They might both just be lazy, and she figures she wont have to do anything but stay young to have his efforts and attention focused on her, which is pretty easy. And he may figure he only has to 'keep her' provided for in order to continue having a more youthful experience than he might have otherwise, and by extension 'feel young'.

I agree. I see it as a bit one side. For me, I date near my age, but every one has preferences.

He is probably a gentleman that is very generous. Not necessarily in the bedroom.

When guys in their 20's hit me up I just laugh and smile in the same way I might treat a puppy.
