George Clooney has many admirable qualities but that suit he was wearing was hideous and amusing ..

But not nearly as amusing that you feel you know what type of man I find attractive:wink:

just for the record,i am new to this site, and when i started this thread,i did not know so many people from the UK would be on here....

this thread was mainly about how the people here in the united states seem to have an unusually high interest in the wedding, considering that it is not about anybody that is in THIS country.

but,i can fully understand how this marriage would be of great interest to people fromt he U.K.,and i meant no offense to any of you.

but, that being said,i STILL dont understand WHY people from the U.S. are so interested in a wedding involving royalty of OTHER countries!

even if the bride IS from the U.S.,i dont really think that is that much of a factor, considering that when the last royal wedding took place, neither of THOSE people were from the U.S.,and the interest level was just as high as it was for THIs wedding.

Hey, mikey from the UK,
It has often made me wonder what the fascination is for the us. But it is a great tie.
Your comments are welcome anyway, everyone has a point of view that's what our countries have battled for, free speech and all that!
Some people have to be rude about it though and that spoils it.
Even if she wasn't american us would have still been crazy about it.
Look forward to seeing in the forums

had it explained to me once and i'm sure one of the brits will fix this but the short answer is only one monarch at a time so a king or a queen but not both
it is an old sexist common law .. usually in marriage the woman takes her husband's title ... where royal titles are concerned it depends on rank and royal/ non royal blood ..,
.
Had Phillip been king .. as his wife Elizabeth would have the title of queen ., if she was not of royal blood she would have been queen consort .

When Elizabeth became queen .. Phillip was of royal blood but her rank became higher than his ... god forbid laugh laugh . Under common law he cannot take his wife's title therefore legally His title is not king Phillip . ..though I am sure her pet name for hiim is. "My king"

So Prince Harry and Andrew are one of the boys as we call them

good for them, what about the other brother that married to is it Kate?

He looks like his mother Princess Diana, his name escapes me .

Yeah, William. I actually feel he's a typical Windsor, although has some features of Diana.
I'm not sure if he would be allowed to as he IS heir to the throne after Charles. Lord knows what the plans are. I somehow think the old queen hopes to stay on long enough for William to have the chance to lead a bit of a normal life before he becomes king. I doubt Charles will be since he married that woman who's name shouldn't even be mentioned.
Would be nice, then both my country and the UK will have a King William :)

I think Charles should skip it and pass it to William, but doubt that would happen.
Prince Philip looks really frail now, the queen is doing good for 92!

I love all weddings. I didnโ€™t catch it, but remember Prince Charles wedding. Our school dance was themed The Royal Wedding and we all dressed as brides and grooms. laugh

I wonder if any schools did that for this event. happy
