Had a Bonnie and a Sportster. Loved the heck out of both of them. The Bonnie handled great, a good "city" bike. But for a long trip the Sporty was a lot more comfortable.

we havent decided yet.

either way,it ought to be a blast.

Just bought a 2007 HD Ultra Classic with a California Trike Car Conversion on it the end of Nov 2017..

Been getting in as much riding time as I can..

Leaving this next weekend to head to the Hill Country and ride the Twisted Sisters with my brother, sister and friends that ride... We rented a house Kerrville for the weekend...

Twisted Sisters is a 100 miles of road that loops around and twist and turns the whole way..

from my understanding it is triumph under new management. since mid late 90s when they started they were adamant about the old being dead and gone. took them 5 years and suddenly there is a new bonnie that was simply an updated clone of the t140s

sounds like nostalgia to me.

There's something about that classic styling of the old bikes. Royal Enfield is even making a comeback of sorts with bikes made in India. Wish HD would get off the heavy weight pot and come out with a classic looking V twin sport bike along the lines of the XR 750 race bike.

My brother has a Harley Davidson and has for years! He trades and gets newer ones.

He had a Honda when he was 16 they were popular then.

I was younger and road on the back, an experience I will never forget.
He took me down a muddy trail by the lake and I was holding on for dear life.
He was riding so fast!
laugh

I am sure he became more responsible rider after he got married and had children. He bought his wife a smaller model.

They go to the Motorcycle convention in South Dakota sometimes.

going to places like the rallies in south dakota, florida,or texas might SOUND GOOD on paper, but when you actually get to them, they are nothing but tourist traps that are designed to take the money from people that dont know any better!!

cuz, when you actually get there, they are so crowded that you cant get a hotel room, cant hardly even find a place to CAMP,cant get a seat in a restaurant without waiting for at least an hour [if you are lucky,it is only an hour!!],you cant hardly even RIDE your bike when you get there, cuz you will burn it up sitting stuck in traffic, and you are going to have to pay a huge markup for everything cuz the locals know that the visiting bikers are ripe for the fleecing, and are actually captives who dont have any other options.

so,i'll just pass on all of the major bike rallies.
