Y'all Race is not the issue. Consider: Mitochondrial DNA has been traced back to the 'original mother' who emanated from, guess where—Ethiopia. So we all share the same traits. Furthermore, if one is to believe Darwin's Theory of Evolution, mankind, in general descended from the Simians. If one believes in the Judeo Christian theology, you would be hard-pressed to prove that Christ was white-skinned. The real issue is money and power. Disney, which owns ABC, needed to preserve its brand of family oriented, wholesome, apple pie status. It would have cost more to turn a blind eye to racist remarks with possible boycotts from advertisers and viewers going elsewhere on principle. 'Divide and conquer', familiar with that? While the populous yammers about skin color, tribalism (in the political sense, ergo, liberal versus conservative, yada yada), the rich and powerful are meanwhile: giving you a measly $50 tax break while pocketing millions; gutting the EPA so that irresponsible corporations can pollute at will, ditto the Consumer Protection Agency; ditto Planned Parenthood and Women's Health; tearing children away from parents because, heaven forbid, less fortunate folks are trying to escape murderous regimes. Wake up to what is really happening! Look for ways to get along, be inclusive instead of divisive. We are all brothers and sisters and at worst, cousins. Like black lives matter? To me all lives matter well,ALL lives DO matter,but not ALL LIVES are equally at risk,are they? so,IMO,to try to compare black lives,to other,less at risk lives as a method to delfect a statement that you dont like,or pivot the issue is disingenuous. more at risk for death by police, more at risk for harsher sentencing when one is a suspect, more at risk for lenient sentencing of suspects when one is the victim, more at risk for housing discrimination, job discrimination, profiling ... etc. etc. etc .. . i feel that you are just spinning your wheels by explaining this,and are just validating someone who does not care what the actual facts are,who only wants to argue to sow discord because they cant rationally defend their position. |

Is it racist when black people say the n word? Because they say it more than any other race. I worked with 2 blacks girls who were constantly apologizing to me for saying it. It is a double standard. Unless you are saying the woman who was insulted has never offended anyone in her life, so she deserves to be given special treatment. Or maybe you are saying because she is black she deserves special treatment and it's only ok if its a white person who is being insulted. I'll tell you what. IF a black person says the word to show someone else's inferiority and not as a term of shared experience, then yes, its racist. But its harder to assess that intent in a Black person than a white person , who does not have a shared experience of being referred to as that word to be believed as using it as a term of shared experience. People are offensive ALL The time. It is the norm. But that does not eradicate any possibility that sometimes those offenses are Racist/Sexist/nationalist by nature. It is not necessary that the offender never have offended anyone, its only significant that the offense in question is rooted in racial/sexual/or national association and is UNPROVOKED by the other party. (that is to say, the other party did not initiate with their own 'racist/sexist/nationalist' offense) Insults are never okay, but there is a bit of a line between constructive criticism or blatant insults, and there is a difference between personal insults and racist/sexist/nationalist ones. So, you admit it's ok to insult Trump because he is a white man. A white person can see inferiority when it has nothing to do with color. So saying only blacks should be able to use the n word makes no sense. If you live in a neighbor known for drug dealing, cops are tougher. If you dress like a thug they are tougher. It's the same with whites. |

Being white also does not excuse him from PERSONAL insults about his PERSONAL choices of behavior and words. all people see inferiority. The APE distincition, however has a unique HISTORICAL connection to describing blacks as inferior or subhuman. Saying blacks can say the N word makes perfect sense, just like any other group that has a common experience WITH each other can use terms that others may not use with the same CONTEXT. where one lives has little to do with all the ways they are at risk SYSTEMATICALLY when they walk out in the world, because people dont wear signs on them giving their home address. we still travel freely and visit each other in different regions. so ASSUMING what one will act like before they do is another thing that is systematically prejudicial. |

All lives do matter, the system does not always ACT like they do, particularly with Blacks and other minorities
hence, BLACK LIVES MATTER is not a statement that other lives dont but that black lives matter TOO. |
