Topic: What's attractive about masculine women?

I doubt very much that all of Greece fought Troy for 10 years for an androgynous woman.

Everyone has their own particular taste. Tastes is not something that can be debated about.
What one person finds beautiful could be ugly to another person and vice versa.

You said it. I prefer lean women.

I keep seeing guys with the tubby ones. What they see in them, is beyond me. I know I'm visual, when it comes to sex. She could have the perfect set, a perfectly shaped rear. Put a fat middle on her, and that's what I see. Lets talk about the weather, because you don't look attractive to me.

Actually, give me a choice of an over weight woman, or a slim trans, and I'd walk away with the trans. But then, I don't have the burning desire to make little carbon copies of myself, so that just might have something to do with my choice.

I don’t have to look attractive to you and this topic is not about the weather.
Have a nice day.

I think it is the media who portray masculine women as a popular choice for men and promote them to be more sexy along with body art than the more clean skinned classy feminine type. The media is agenda driven and I try not to pay too much attention to this.

I prefer the more feminine clean skinned type as personal preference.

I think it is hard to know all the looks a person can have and especially actors and actresses who are made up for the character they are meant to portray. the character of Ripley was WRITTEN as a man and perhaps that is why they decided to go with a woman who did not necessarily come across as 'feminine'

I happen to think Sigourney has natural beauty

I'm not attracted to them at all. I can get " square jaw" and tough at work.. I don't want my lady to have it too.

Different strokes for different folks, hence the classic phrase “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”.

What you’ve mentioned are movie characters, that isn’t real life, most women who are masculine are usually butch looking, how many female body builders look like men? And they are not appealing to the average man, Look at Iris Kyle compared to the late WWE wrestler Chyna.

The fascination on screen is because they are kick *** type of women, and that is appealing or fascinating to the average man.

I personally don’t find Angeline Jolie appealing, but I did like her in the Lara Croft films, she “looked” good, combined with the kick azz mentality she was far from masculine.

For me I like curves on a woman, not stick like Victoria secret models, that thin look that looks like they can pass for an Ethiopian famine victim on vitamin supplements doesn’t do it for me.

Give me a real women with curves, boobs and feminine looking any day every day and I’m not complaining.

"What is the appeal? I'd say a woman like that would make a man feel emasculated but I clearly remember how men were drooling over Sigourney Weaver when Alien first came out. I never understood, hence my question."

Sigourney Weaver -ROCKS! Adore her for shattering the typical female stereotype. I also think Ms.Weaver is a terrifically attractive woman, very sexy yet very strong. My personal esthetic seems to embrace an appreciation of "androgyny"[ having the characteristics or nature of both male and female]. Think, David Bowie for the guys;}

I like when a woman is being herself and acting in the way which is most comfortable and honest. People do often have a slight persona to go with their sense of humour and entertaining yourself a little bit, but a full on femininity act to attract men just comes off as a total fake to me and so does the complete tomboy act. I'm not big on women who either cry about breaking a nail or act like they're all upper body strength. I like an actual person or else you're just boring and a dependent, like a pet turtle. It's not sexy.

Sigourney in Aliens was sexy because she's the only woman in what's otherwise a b-grade slasher/monster film, who doesn't just stand there screaming and get mutilated when basically a physical creature that you can try to fight physically attacks you. She had the kudos to at least try not to be food, which is very sexy in a woman because it means you might get a little teamwork if you like, get attacked by a bear on a picnic instead of having to fight the bear all by yourself as well as fight your girl's stupidity not to go running directly at the bear's claws whilst you're at it. Stupid people are redundant, a not-stupid woman is sexy, nothing masculine about it and if you think there is because feminine women should be useless when it comes to any survival skills or instinct or intellectual development beyond toddler age, then you're a fake, not her.

By "you" I mean generic "you" not anyone specific, it's just a generalized statement.

You could also come at it another way, the image of femininity, especially the commercialised image is about visual stimuli, whereupon sexy feelings if you will would be produced in the brain of the person onlooking, however when a woman gets in your personal space in some kind of mating ritual it's more about interaction so popular images of femininity probably wouldn't apply so much as the nature of interactivity. Ultimately I think true femininity comes down to the right equipment and being yourself so you get the correct match.

There are those women who are body builders with large muscles. I don't think that is attractive, and think most men don't like that as well. That's masculine. The women who are in shape and a little tough, but feminine too, that seems cool.

I know I don't find a lot of professional female body builders very appealing.

Many of them look way too masculine for my taste.

By "masculine",
are we talkin' broads with facial hair?
Excessive body hair?
A manly build?
Butch personality?

All turn offs btw.
