Trump helped parents shield millions from taxes: New York Times

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump engaged in tax schemes that included cases of fraud in which he and his siblings helped their parents dodge taxes, the New York Times reported on Tuesday.

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-taxes/trump-helped-parents-shield-millions-from-taxes-new-york-times-idUSKCN1MC2OM

1. Trump has never released any year of tax returns. 2. He is the first major party presidential candidate not to release any returns. 3. He is the first president in the modern era not to release any tax returns. 4. In 2014, Trump said this about his taxes: "If I decide to run for office, I'll produce my tax returns, absolutely. And I would love to do that." 5. In January 2016, Trump said this about his taxes: "I have very big returns, as you know, and I have everything all approved and very beautiful and we'll be working that over in the next period of time." 6. Trump has insisted since the 2016 campaign that he cannot release his taxes because he is being audited. Richard Nixon released his taxes in 1973 when he was a) president and b) under audit. 7. Trump has said his personal financial disclosure forms tell you much more about his finances than a tax return. That's not right. 8. In 2017, MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow got her hands on the first two pages of Trump's 2005 tax return. It showed he had earned $150 million and paid $38 million in taxes that year. 9. In 2016, The New York Times reported on Trump's 1995 tax return, which showed he reported $916 million in losses that year alone. 10. At the first 2016 general election debate, Hillary Clinton suggested Trump's refusal to release his tax returns was rooted in the fact he didn't pay any taxes at all. "That makes me smart," Trump retorted. Liar, cheat, fraud, those are FACTS!

... Trump has never released any year of tax returns ...

^^^^^^^^^^^^ So what! Do all politicians release their tax returns! Rep Waters, Sen Feinstein, Sen Shumer, Rep Pelosi??????? Did Senator Ted Kennady or Senator Dodd?

Personal information that is no ones business except the IRS. If the IRS found the President to be truant for even one cent it would find it's way to NBC, CBS, ABC and CNN. And then he'd be the worst tax evader of all time.

Lets see yours. Since you seem to think it's your business to know what Trump's returns look like, then I want to see yours.

I've yet to see a reason why anyone needs to see a politician's tax records. When I choose to vote for any politician, the last thing I need to know, is how much money the man made. What he made has little to do with what he stands for.

What politicians make as far as income, doesn't amount to a hill of beans. obama was about as transparent as a brick wall.

Dems around here have been griping about Mike Brawn's use of chinese auto parts in his handicapped accessible vans that his company converts.

Common sense (and buying auto parts) tells me that most parts come from Mexico,or China. Because that's what's available. If it's not made here, it's not. I know for a fact that most all door knob parts are made in china. Want one that's american made? They don't exist. It might claimed that it's american made-but with chinese parts. Much to your dismay, none are made here.

If I was paying millions in taxes I would be searching for loopholes too. Don't worry dems. Whatever Trump didn't pay in tax was taxed in another way. If he bought something he paid tax and probably property tax, if he saved it, he paid tax on interest received. People better hope Trump keeps working and creating businesses to keep their foodstamps flowing. Instead of bitching and crying.

The only people who care about this are ones in favor of wealth redistribution (Democrats). Republicans already know that millions/billionaires look for loopholes and shelter money.

My family put a large amount in a bank account with my name on it when I was 3. It wasn't the govt who worked for that money. I didn't get to keep the money but it was needed after my dad died. I'm a firm believer in people being allowed to keep what they earn and pass it down to their children. I've already started passing things I've acquired down to mine. I'm poor so it not that much. Everyone with an ounce of ambition better vote Republican and keep Democrats out of our pockets.

Pence accuses China of interfering in US policies, politics

"WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Mike Pence accused China on Thursday of trying to undermine President Donald Trump as the administration deploys tough new rhetoric over Chinese trade, economic and foreign policies.

At the Hudson Institute think tank, Pence said China was using its power in "more proactive and coercive ways to interfere in the domestic policies and politics of the United States."

"China wants a different American president," Pence said. "

If China wants a different president then Trump is doing something right. Our president doesn't work for China. He works for the American people. China clearly wants another idiot to sign bad trade deals. They will have to wait until another Democrat is in office for that.

"The Tax Department is reviewing the allegations in the NYT article and is vigorously pursuing all appropriate avenues of investigation," a spokesman from the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance said in an email to CNBC. "

Trump's tax returns will be target of Democrats' probe if they win House in midterms

"The mystery of President Trump’s tax returns could finally come to an end if Democrats win control of at least one chamber of Congress following the midterm elections in November.

Democratic lawmakers in the House are planning to use an obscure, almost 100-year-old tax statute -- that permits the chairmen of Congress’ tax committees to look at anyone’s returns -- to get to the bottom of Trump’s finances and possibly make public the information that the president has kept guarded since the 2016 election. I think it's brilliant. We need someone like that who can get things done for our country. Instead of the let the U.S. pay more past presidents.
