pictures from my parents youth (from the 40's/50's/60's) and their early years together; my youth - all those xmas pictures..; large framed portraits of various family members - great grand parents, grandparents, family when children are babies then youth.. Then there is the plethora of holiday pictures - boats, flowers, castles, fish, etc...
There is more than a trunkfull of it all.. I've already got large see-thru tubs for each child (which I'm going to give to them); a tub for myself and another for my deceased husband/familys pictures/ancestors..
Not tomorrow.. but in many years to come my solution will be to bury them in the family lot..somehow accessible
maybe this should be in the what makes you weird thread..spock

Not me, I do not intend to still be here by the time I move to the otherworld, so I ain't burying anything here!
Which reminds me I have to tell my kids that if something was to happen to me I do NOT wish to be buried in this village's cemetery.
No idea where I do want to be put in the ground, just know I don't want it to be here. F*(k that!
Wouldn't bury photos either btw... they'll go to my kids.

I had a book printed of a number of my dad's photos, from being a very young child to briefly before his passing. It is wonderful as it's so much easier to pick up and browse through than a pile of photos. (none of the photos I inherited from my dad are in albums)

Count your blessings.
I had everything I owned stolen in 2008, and I do mean everything.
What I miss most is all my photo albums, pictures from birth of
all my family..gone forever. A Microscope, in a wooden box, that
I got from Santa when I was 8, instead of a doll, Santa knew me well.

All irreplaceable.
Would that I might be deciding right now, as you, where they should
all go.

Digitize and Just store it all in the cloud

That's what I did.
I have a printer/scanner.
It was fund scanning them and it also allowed me to crop and fix damaged pics.
It was also fun making collages and custom layouts.
I also digitized my home videos.

I made my kids a DVD with our family pics set to music with clips of home videos interlaced.

I did mini-collages of each of the grandkids with their birth statistics and a picture of the hospital where they were born as watermark.

After I had everything digitized I gave all of the hardcopies to the kids and the X. Sometimes I play the pics as a slideshow while listening to music.
I can print any pic I want anytime I want but the TV works really good as a big animated photo album.
I can also load the whole collection onto a thumb drive and send or give it to anyone.
Plus, I have a cloud backup of everything and data DVDs of the collection zipped as an archive.

It took awhile to get everything just the way I want it but I worked at my own pace and it gave me something to do that matters.
