Thinking... why does it take so long for the house to get warm? I'm cold, brrrrr... because you chose to waste money by turning the heat down  Not really. Turning it down saves money, approx 10% of what you pay per year. Advice is to go for 15C at night. I leave it a wee bit higher cos my house isn't insulated so well. well i have actually measured fuel usage both setting back and leaving it at one comfort level. and i burned less leaving it steady. set back only saved if i was gone for multiple days Okay. Could it be different for different heating systems? Over here we use gas and have central heating, and it's advised to turn it down to save cost. It's what's researched to be cheaper, and thus advised by the consumer organisation. Not easy to test yourself. I guess you'd have to not do it for a year, check your gas usage against a year of doing it. But then if the weather's been different your test goes out the window. I find 15C at night way too low, I doubt that would be cost efficient as it takes forever to get it to 21C. I should be saving a bit on gas since 2017 when I got a new heating, one without a pilot light. |

What color did you decide to go with Crystal? Thinking I should of slept longer The wall is warm orange now and will be ivory white. Quite the change, I want it but in a way still a little reluctant about it, haha. (I've always been allergic to white walls, hihi, this is truly a first! I've already taken things of the wall, so in that sense ready to get going with the prepping stuff to put underneath the white wallpaint so it will cover the orange better. I'll see if I can do before & after pictures when it's done

Thinking Crystal is going to be one busy lady
I'm not much on white walls either but there are so many different variations of ivory now that I really like. Definitely a big change but it should make the room seen bigger and brighter Not on here much but I'll try and check in and look for the pics!

And that was only the prep-work, doing the corners, edges, behind wires, and pipes from the heating. I used to do an entire room in a few hours, now I'm not even sure I get to rolling the pieces of wall today. (neck-head injury is really tripping me up!) Pics won't be for another few days but I will post them when done :) |

Thinking I need to get out the door and get some errands ran.. but it is a little cold out.. well okay a lot cold out... but I want to make chili.. and unfortunately the ingredients just aren't going to show up at my door LOL....and it's nice to get out and about... who knows who you might meet
