Hi Kitten, I suggest you open a new thread. Lots of men in our age group want active sex life, some are even active here in the forums. You go girl! flowerforyou

Shock! Horror! Is that true? I thought the threads were just for chatting about the topic. Never realised there was any overlap with the dating part of this site! devil

If you're looking for friendship, then height doesn't matter. I'm lucky in that respect as any lady who says I am not tall enough is clearly not looking for the same thing (friendship) as I am!

Not true. Even for friendship I want someone to be around my height. I've had short friends but that means I have to bend my head & back all the time when talking to them which causes me problems within half an hour. I rather go out alone and do things than with a friend who's shorter than me. A few cms okay, but people here in my area are really short.

We will never know, the original poster has long since left the site. Perhaps that means she found someone suitable.

When I said 'height doesn't matter' I was referring only to friends, people to share a meal with, or a theatre visit. It's only when intimacy is involved and you are with someone you like to kiss, that it helps if the man is a little taller than his lady.

I have many friends and some are indeed taller than me. It makes no difference at all.

When Dudley Moore (at 5'2.5") was dating Susan Anton (at 5'11") in the 80s, on a talk show he stated it made no difference, since most of her height difference was in her legs.

You do realize that internet height and real life height are 2 different creature?

Online I'm 6'6", in real life I'm a little under 5'11.

Oh crap, I just told the truth, that isn't allowed online either.slaphead

I know all that because I can see you , you are sat about two feet away from a computer screen spock

Hi Kitten

Your comments really resonated with me.

I'm an American living in Europe this year. I'm over 50 but I never thought I'd want or need to date much younger men. It seemed cliched and a recipe for failure. (What if he wanted children when I've already raised mine?) Plus, guys who are in their early 40's are sometimes just in a different phase of life than I am.

ON THE OTHER HAND< in central and Eastern Europe, a lot of the people over 45 have not aged well, presumably because they were raised under communism and the nutrition wasn't great, nor was dental care, etc. And though they won't admit it, it's hard to imagine their libido matching mine because I see them acting winded after a hike or walking their dog.

I believe conditions are better in western countries but I don't have a lot of references.

But the other point you raised about men who disappear, reminded me of another confusing matter. What's up with the endless chatting and never a request to actually meet in real life?

Gentlemen, if you "meet" a woman online and she lives near you, how long do you "chat" before you set up a date? (Am I being old fashioned for wanting the man to actually ask?)

Also, when guys are too far away, some of them act as if we should spend lots of time chatting but if we are not likely to ever meet, and they want "romance", whatever that means when you never meet, it seems like a waste of time. They'll say "distance is not a problem when you love someone" but I disagree. Plus, I want companionship and a long distance relationship, long term, makes no sense for me at this point in life.

There are some folks, (maybe women too??) who don't seem to actually want to meet in real life.

They express emotions that are pretty strong though we have never met, and yet they never pull the trigger to set something up.

Anyone else have that experience?

I feel like some men want virtual relationships and I'm not into that. I don't get it.

Feedback?
