Depends what you base 'best' on...

- Deeper meaning... The Matrix. Food for thought

Or Jurassic Park & World (all) - to illustrate the risk of us messing with nature and GM.

Or Deep Impact

- Love and lightheartedness - The Ugly Truth

- Romance, Twin Flames, True love - The Titanic

- Seriously good Martial Arts - Jet Li movies

- Shallowness of human nature - Philadelphia

- Good entertainment: Bad Boys

the best movie ever made is

any honestly candid home movie on youtube of kids/babies doing their first thing, laughing, saying the weirdest/funniest things, or randomly enjoying life compared to whatever comes out of Hollywood.

Hollywood offers few products.
1. through your own willing suspension of disbelief: self manipulation triggering a desired emotional reaction for the purpose of escapism; mental and emotional masturbation.
2. propaganda.
3. some combination of 1&2.

Their are so many great films that it's really difficult to choose. However, when ever I see this kind of question, the one film that always comes to mind is Akira Kurasawa's "Rashomon".

the best movie ever made is

i would have to say the first one,(i think it was a running horse, on film at least) because, with out it catching peoples attention enough, none of the others would have followed

but as far as picking one , i couldn't really do it
would all depend on me mood
i wouldn't say The Lake House if i was in the mood for a Matrix, and i wouldn't choose Fantasia if i was in the mood for The Forth Kind, couldn't say The Green Mile if i was in the mood for Paul

there are so many great ones out there as well as many fails that have great parts in it

but if i have to choose one
i guess i will go with The Wizard of Oz
because it has me theme song in it
If i only had a brain : )
