all ways a new adventure : )
k so i am coming out of a store and i see a human walking up to go in to the store
so i stop and slide to the side and hold the door open
well the person is walking though the door , she said "Sexist"
i looked at her (i dont know if she wanted confrontation or what she was trying to do)as the next person walked in the door that i was still holding open, that next human, was a guy , he said "Thank You" and me in return "Your Welcome Sir"

<face palm>

so are my mannerisms for being nice now sexist ?
i didnt even look to see what she was as far as a male or female
nor do i care , i hold the door open , to what ever sex the person thinks they are
i just seen another human walking in to a store i was walking out of
i mean hell i have had friends laugh at me cause i have got stuck at doors before cause i was holding the door for a flood of people , i have even doubled back to hit the last set of doors before the one i was at to hold it open for many as well
<shrug>

to me its no big deal
its just being kind

talk about damned if i do and damned if i don't

i just don't understand how i am sexist when i hold the door open for any one,
does this make sence to any one else ? ? ? ?

There are extremists in every sector.
This one just sounds rude.

Some people are just as***les for no particular reason 24/7

Yesterday..I was sitting in my car at Kroger....in a row, waiting to make a turn..
Guy was sitting in his *parked* car (in a space to my left)..eating an apple.
I happened to glance over that way...meet his look (he was apparently looking my way as well, then)..then he loudly says "f**k you, lady".

Don't know why he felt he needed to say that, but, whatever dude..I didn't engage such a nut job by replying...just figured it was HIS problem, not mine..

Datwasntme...The ONLY time I have a problem with epople of weither gender openibng a door for me is when the practically run over me to get to it (or stand there after letting others out and hold it open, all the while looking at me like "hurry up fat *** I ain't got all day.."
Yes, I *have* seen that look more than once, i am not imagining it..

Dude...*you* volunteered to rush in front of me and open the door...if you expect me to hurry up *for you* because of that...you shouldn't have done it...

And, even then, I don't say anything rude..because..what's the pont?

Militant feminists, that is the reason of this kind of behavior.
when you as a man try to be nice they think you are flirting with them.
This is how sick these people has become!

"when you as a man try to be nice they think you are flirting with them"

Sooooo...it's "sick" for me to think when a guy messasges me on a dating site/ is nice, polite, courteous on there to me that he is flirting with me?
Really?

Dang...who knew...

I forgot to hold the door for someone the other day at a public place and got the finger. I guess my mind was elsewhere.

I will never find kindness or common courtesy sexist. Don’t let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch. (Don’t let that last sentence get a song stuck in your head either.) :stuck_out_tongue:

does this make sence to any one else ? ? ? ?

Sure! It all makes sense.
More sense than an adult complaining about it.

Please let me share what my dad said to me when I was about 7.
"Just because someone calls you a name, it doesn't make it true. You're a horse. Did you turn into a horse? Are you now a horse? If everyone starts calling you a horse, do you think you're going to grow hooves and a tail? My dad always said god never made enough horses fronts just too many horses rears. If someone calls you a stupid name, just realize they're in the too many category. If you spend time worrying about it or letting it bother you, you're just joining them."

Something like that. It's been a while.

i have got stuck at doors before cause i was holding the door for a flood of people

I find it the worst when some negligent parent isn't paying attention and there are a bunch of 2-6 year olds trying to push the doors open and rush outside while people are attempting to come in.

Can't really hold open the door for people unless you're willing to kinda kick the kids back inside to keep them from running out into the parking lot.

...So I found myself going to Lowes and buying a safety reflective vest which I've adorned with "Entrance and egress monitor" while carrying a cattle prod and a tip cup with me whenever I go to a store or restaurant.

last time i was very very sure about something things went horribly wrong so i’ll just get
‘hey ricky you’re so fine, you’re so fine, you blow my mind, hey ricky’ stuck in my head
and call it a day. :)-

The woman mentioned in the original post,
may have been joking, or simply being a
smart-azz.

Some people deadpan with a straight face,
for an added shock value.

That doesn't make her a feminist.

The woman, may simply just be an ill mannered
pig.

That doesn't make her a feminist.

When in doubt, just let go of the door,
and let it close on her.

she wasnt joken
at least that is what i take from it, with her voice and look on her face

but
i have no idea what there day is like
how much crap she has had today
what there life is putting them through
ect ect ect

if i wasn't so rushed, i might have asked why she thought holding the door open for a fellow human was sexist

feminist , no idea , i try not to judge people or read a book by its cover

and thanks all for the comments : )

its very nice to get others ideas on it

thanks again
