Topic: Do you trust/have faith in your Government?

In my country "We the People" is supposed to be the government.
The problem is "We the People" have gotten lazy and put people in charge, give them authority and ownership of "We the People" then sit at home or at work and complain about it.
That war we fought/fight (name one), is my war. It doesn't belong to my government. Its my war because I am part of We the People.
The White House is My House. It belongs to We the People and I am We the People.
The CIA, FBI, NASA, Social Security and all the other government funded stuff in my country is not the government's, its property of We the People. Its managed by We the People. It answers to We the People and since I am part of We the People, that's me as well as you too.
Democrat, Republican or Independent doesn't/shouldn't matter, We the People needs to be what is important. We the People needs to be in charge.
The final say.
If We the People steps up to do what is right, I have much faith.
If we continue the status quo, Just a deeper mess, loses my faith.

If so, why?
If not, why?

You can talk about any topic that makes you trust or distrust your Government....

I'm not happy this morning. I checked in political forum here to see if there's a post about leaders of countries and I saw this thread.
I received a video from my uncle this morning of a massacre by this terrorist that invaded the Eastern part of my country in the night and kill all the people in the public bus. They do invade people's house in the Northern part of Nigeria in the night and massacre them. Now they moved to the East where mainly are Christians. They are sponsored by the corrupt leaders of Nigeria (95% Muslim)..

I don't mind who's reading. Nigeria is ruled by corrupt leaders. I say it again. The leaders of Nigeria both that man called Muhammadu Buhari is very wicked president. The wicked will never go unpunished.

Yes and no
As a citizen i need to trust in the government that its trying its best to put the whole country on tract, for if i dont we will not follow its rules or laws that it implements puting a whole nation into chaos.
Having 3 branches of government executive, judiciary and legislative so that there would be a check and balance .
And 5 pillars of criminal justice system.

No
Having a president who has a very strong political will is very scary , able to do things that even its co equal branch cant do a thing loosing the check and balance.
Its a roller coaster ride.
This words coming from a president on his war on drugs ...
"My order is shoot to kill you. I don’t care about human rights, you better believe me.
"
"I will defend to death my soldier and my policemen if they commit some acts which can be considered criminal"
--
It can lead to abuse. As long as it can appear that its related in the performance of duty .
Possibility of failed due process of law, since they will be given pardon.

And Russia's Putin wants to lead Russia longer than his terms dictate. So he makes reforms to benefit himself.

President Vladimir Putin's allies on Wednesday backed reforms that could allow him to stay in the Kremlin until 2036, but critics accused him of seeking to usurp power and called for protests.

A day after voting for a package of Putin-backed constitutional amendments -- including a last-minute addition to "reset" his presidential terms -- the lower house State Duma gave its final approval on Wednesday.

The upper house Federation Council quickly followed suit, voting overwhelmingly a few hours later in favour of the reforms.

These 'leaders' never fail to disappoint....

well after reading the world health organization
ask the sitting President ...if he would like test kits for the cornavirus 19
and he turned them down ... not so sure about that answer ...
they could have been a little more organized and saved lives...
if they took the tests ... before it got out of hand ... like it has
just my thoughts ...

NO and NO!

I grew up watching Nixon lie to us all on TV and our presidents have all been slime since. Excluding Jimmy Carter.

I used to. Wile I was serving in the military, I voted in each election that I could through absentee ballets. Only to find out during Oboma's election that absentee ballets are only counted when there is a run off. So for 20 years My vote did not count. Now with the current mess I am glad I stopped voting. I do not feel responsible for electing a bunch of cat and dog fighting people to govern.

The syntax answer here is no citizen should ever trust their government.. Although I am a supporter of the current administration I will not allow myself to become complacent, lazy, irresponsible and careless. The problem with our government is that we see it As a living cell and as citizens we do not realize collectively as a whole who gives life to this cell.. Moreover each American does not realize the responsibility that comes with freedom. And the right to self govern. What is it that most Americans fear their government? Those who do are the easily brainwashed Chattel And nine out of 10 times they’re also the one to facilitate a divide between for us as citizens. Because we do not audit our government annually, heck hourly And do it together collectively as a whole and as our responsibility.. This would be the very basics that we need to do. Then to also change how our media delivers news and needs to absolutely be not only addressed but no questions asked do what we tell you Or surrender all your assets! Anyway no point in going on a rant and all the things that we need to do. I feel that it’s utterly important that we address this because if we get control back to our government and we haven’t even taken it back yet, However, I do feel something about us all working together and I pray that I’m right.

Its a lovely question but I don't know the answer because I am not sure if "my government" was elected by my fellow countrymen.

after reading on the net yesterday's announcements about what is proposed to deal with the crisis I thought I might compare it with the announcements of some countries closely associated …..

I noticed there has been a lot of "cutting and pasting"
