I am awake. Anyone else?
What was the best day of your life?
Mine was the day my daughter was born . I had this strange epiphany and I turned to all my friends who were there to support me and I said ,"Now I know what it is to be a woman".
It could of been the morphine they gave me lol.

I have a great many wonderful and best days.

When I got this house...

When I found out I was pregnant (both times)

When living in & working for an Aboriginal community at Uluru every day was a best day

When I got married

When I got divorced

When I got my 2 cats as babies

When I set foot in England

When I delivered my baby girl, 2nd child. First time I felt so insecure, not the 2nd time!

First time on stage presenting & singing

For me, being there when my grandbabies came into this world.
Seeing your children’s children birth is nothing short of spectacular.
Forever etched in my memory is my son’s reaction to seeing his
son for the first time. What a precious, precious time.

Trust me, morphine helps when they cut you open to get the baby out of you. Men will never know laugh

Beautiful, I would love to hear more about your time with the Aboriginal at Uluru. I hitchhiked around a lot of Australia in my 20's and some had so many wild experiences.

Magical. I saw my best friends baby being born. I wept  The funniest thing was she kept saying "Meh, this is a breeze, why are all these other women screaming?".
Then hours later she has this moment and she goes"Oh, I see why".
I could not help but crack up.

I lived with low self-esteem and perpetual depression most of my life.
I remember it all.
There were many 'good days' but there were a few really best days.

Funny how two 'best days' just happened to have scary starts.

On July 8th, in Keesler AFB hospital I was with my wife while she birthed my 1st born son. Scariest experience I had at that point in my life. That same day turned out to be one of my best days when I was dressed in that blue gown, hat and puffy shoe mittens and my wife was smiling (but very tired) and my boy, MY BOY! was in my arms!

On Jan 4 I died in a car accident and was revived in the ambulance. On Jan 6th, I came home and my boys gave me hugs and my oldest told me "thank you for not dying, daddy". The rush of love I felt that day was the strongest I have ever felt.

When I was trying to beat this life-long depression about 10 years ago, one of my methods was to proclaim out loud "That's a good thing". I remember at first it was hard to find reasons to say it. I also remember why I stopped saying it. Because I was finally constantly saying it.
It wasn't a best day but it was a best change.

Being free of depression I no longer have low self-esteem. The loss of that anchor weighing me down allows me to have inner peace and all days are good.
My health is failing but my spirit is joyful.

Edit for spelling and typos

Oh, it was the most beautiful time of my life in a way!! First time I lived by myself, had to do all the cooking and cleaning etc. I lived in a 2 room caravan/mobile home in the Aboriginal community, and I truly became part of it.
During the day I worked at the ranger station where all the tourists came when visiting Uluru, at the top of season 55 coaches, and they all came around the same time, hihi.
I first worked in the food kiosk, later I was 'promoted' to run the souvenir shop which was in a corner inside the ranger station.
A number of Aboriginals came there during the day to interact with the tourists, do some spear throwing demonstrations etc. In a way I suppose they were actually just 'dressing' for the tourists, giving them an opportunity to actually see Aboriginals and if they chose to, talk to them.
They were so relaxed and I became friends with a number of them.
My first day I had to be introduced to the people, as I was under employ if the community, even though that was managed mostly by white folk.
So I had to help out in the community store and meet the people. They came to the store in masses, hihi, and f*(k was I nervous and insecure!! I didn't know what to do or say, they spoke in very short sentences and I had trouble understanding them. It was mostly nosy women turning up, and you know what women are like, giggling, chatting, etc., and they were no different. I was truly appraised.
Since I spent some 5 months there, I began to learn their language (I love language!) and they loved that! One woman helped me, giving me short lessons in Pitjantjatjara.
Some visited regularly when I got home from work, one played guitar and then she played and we and some girls sang along.
The feel, the energies there (Uluru is a huge power place!), being part of that all, it has changed me for life.

Oh, I don't doubt that! Peru is a very special place too and I think the people there are also friendly?

You know what was really funny btw? When I applied for a job at the food kiosk (they had a sign up saying they were looking for help) they hired me on the spot, told me I'd live in "the community in a flat" etc etc.
I hadn't a clue wth they were talking about. I was just glad to have work, good pay, as I was running out of cash and needed a job.
Then it turned out it was an Aboriginal community after my first day at work I did feel overwhelmed. NOthing against them, just that I hadn't seen a whole lot of them yet. I'd only been in Aus for a short time.
Then my flat turned out to be a caravan/mobile home. In my language a flat is an apartment building. Now I hadn't expected that of course, in the middle of the desert, haha. But this was a surprise.
Simple bed, simple table and chairs, a fridge that only stayed closed with a spinbinder, and a cooker. That was pretty much it.
Once I had a huge spider on the wall next to my bed noway Grey, hairy, at least some 15 cms (6") diameter. I did not deal with that myself, haha.

OMG I'm getting carried away, flooded with memories! love

Once... when I was a little kid -back on our farm -I wandered out into the woods -climbed a 30+ foot tree to the top branches -which had honeysuckle vines (or similar -just remember strong vines and flowers) growing between them and the top branches of the next tree -so thick (and I was so light) that I was able to crawl in between the trees and use the vines as a huge hammock all afternoon. I have loved peaceful isolation ever since -but that was the best ever
