You beardy guys, - I don't know how you do it.
Yes I still have mine, freshly grown, and I'm a bit more used to it now, but it's still annoying.
Much less irritating once I shaved my neck and under my chin.
My Mo is a bit curly and tickles up my nose, and it is a bit annoying finding food.
When I eat stilton blue cheese or some other stinky cheese, my mo catches bits and all I can smell for the rest of the day is stink foot.
I hit my face with a hard glance with gloves on when a spanner slipped, and it wrenched hairs and broke skin. Normally not so bad shaved.
It's not thick, so I still get sunburnt through it, and can't use sunscreen really.
It does keep the mosquitoes at bay, and flies don't want to land on my face now.
It looks good from the front to me, I like it, but not that much.
I'd post a pic, but computer says 'no'.
If a girl really loved it, I'd keep it if it was worth it, but one of these days I'll remember to cut it off.
Maybe bit by bit, and change styles until it's all gone. I've done it before.
Trim it a bit more every few days and see how it looks.
Slip with the razor too much, then even up the other side, and next thing, you've got an Adolf moustache and a flavour saver.

All those times I had stubble, it only attracted food, never women. Ha Ha.
Thanks for the vid.

Well, you can always go with mountain man long beard that was mentioned after the ad.
:grinning: I was on a different site a couple years ago and my beard was longer (5 inches or so) which I was attracting lots of domanatresses. Not my thing is why I trim it down tight then let it grow no longer then 2 inches before trimming it down again now.

Mine grows from just below my eyes down to meet my sasquatchian chest hair -I hate it. If I shave at 8am I get a 10am shadow. If I let it go a few days I can't just shave -I have to clip it first.

A beard does not look good on every man.
It enhances some men's looks, but again not, on all.
Billy Campbell, Jason Momoa, Pierce Brosnan, Sean Connery are a few great examples.

Seeing a man's jawline can be sexy too, for some more so than a beard.

And like the OP says... food can stick in it when the beard is longer, gross!!
Not every man has enough hair to grow a full beard and to have some long thin piece of bum fluff on your chin is not appealing either.

I don't see how it'd attract women. Granted, it can look super hot and manly on some, but the thought of kissing a man with moustache and beard does not appeal to me.
The thought of a bearded & moustached man pleasuring me you-know-where doesn't either, hihi.

So eye-candy is good, but I'd prefer my man cleanly shaven :)

I sometimes wonder why men grow beards. Are they curious about how it will look? Spouse/girlfriends asks them to? Get tired of shaving? Trying a new look? Seeing if it will attract women?

I've never seen the attraction of growing one. If I even have at least a days growth, I feel dirty and unkempt. Always been clean shaven and I always will be. You'll never see me jumping about like Captain Caveman anyway! :joy::joy::joy::thumbsup:

It does seem like a lot of work for a man to shave every day.

Not really, as you get it down to a fine art over time! As long as you have a good razor, blades, shaving foam, or gel and some good conditioner cream for your face afterwards then that's the business!

I do mostly prefer clean shaven men, but can like something different sometimes.

There was a guy at the hardware store with a handlebar moustache and serious curls at the end (before masks) -I couldn't find something and it was all I could do not to say "Excuse me, I moustache you a question"

The time before last I grew a beard, I just got slack a few months and let it go till it annoyed me too much.

Last time, I moved house and couldn't find electric shaver, so didn't several months till I found it.

This time, just to stir up a little minx.

Last time, shop assistants asked if I had a pension card; this time is different, I get smiles; I must not look so old.

Funny thing is that each time I did, my boss did too, with his patchy bum fluff. The other day he asked me when I will shave; he had just cut his off again.
The nutter is a competitive beard grower, but hopeless at it, weird.

Why?
You've got some of the reasons covered but I think the main reasons are;
they're lazy (grow a beard and shave your head and you can shower every couple of weeks weather you need to or not).
When you're a kid you look forward to the day you can grow decent facial hair so I think it's a holdover from that.
They think it's trendy/cool (esp the stupid chin strap and Abe Lincoln look the young ones do).

My late mother always used to say when seeing a guy with a beard "he looks like he could use a good scrubbing"!

I've never liked it myself, I'll be 64 in Sept and as you all can see by my pics here (that are within a year old) I'm fortunate that most people guess me to be younger. I can age myself about 20 years by not shaving for a week or
two since my beard is mostly white, yuck.

I'm NOT, NOT, NOT into guys at all but my favorite TV series HELL ON WHEELS stars Anson Mount and when he's in his "Cullen Bohannon" character he has a short beard and is someone that I think looks great with it.

JMO and we'll see how many people this pizzes off........
