Abducted by aliens?
Turned into a covid vaccine zombie?
His wife caught him?
It's 2021, maybe his husband caught him?

I was stood up once by a dude I was to meet for the first time and have dinner with. We hadn't talked much nor for long. I somehow felt in my bones he was going to be a no-show after I declined him picking me up at home. I don't want a stranger to know my address.
Since I had that strong feeling I had dinner at home before I left to meet him. And he indeed didn't show. I shrugged and went home, and was happy I was smart enough to already dine beforehand :)

But ghosted after such a long time, nope.
I wouldn't just text for that long either. You don't know what you're dealing with until you meet. And if they hold off meeting you know something isn't right.
However harsh it is, probably is like Slim Gym says: he met someone and fell in love.

Not much of a gentleman if he was a no "call" no show. Even in my lifestyle, I never fail to meet without an explanation of why. You may have dodged a bullet by his neglect. Don't give up. The next one might be that guy you are seeking

No problem. I am aware that in a big country as the US it isn't always easy to meet someone. My country is minute in comparison (The Netherlands).
But I too learnt the hard way that chatting-only can be very misleading. My one date-from-hell was with a man I had chatted with a little longer (not months though) but very often, daily, as we both felt this connection and were drawn to one another. We both felt we had found the match from heaven. He was as eager as me to meet as I was, even though he had to drive for almost 3 hours.
But it turned into the date from hell the second I got out of my car and received his first comment when he saw me.
I tried to stay polite, after all he'd driven far for me on a very hot day. But half an hour in I walked out on him and went home. Steam out of my ears as he had been nothing but rude for the full half hour.
That's how I learnt to never assume anything anymore from chatting-only.

On the up-side... I have also had men on chat who told me after 1-2 great conversations that they had met someone shortly before bumping into me online. And even though they like me they wanted to give it a chance with that other lady.
So there ARE good guys that are honest.
So indeed, never give up hope!!

I’ve been stood up 3 times. Twice by the same guy. More fool me for giving him a second chance slaphead These were local guys from another dating site.

The excuse given by the guy that stood me up twice was that he bottled it because he thought I was out of his league whoa

All to common on dating sites, if they are local it's better to arrange a meeting just for coffee and chat as soon as possible, and save wasting your time in messaging people who turn out to be fakes.
