My wife was ten years younger, we were together 17 years before she passed and we'd have lasted till death, so yes, but there's a caveat.

I decided this time I need someone my age, having spoken with a couple of younger women, there's no denying the "connection" wasn't there, life experience is undeniably important, there is absolutely no comparison to talking to someone that can complete sentences for you and vice versa.

I think it depends on your age. When I was in my 20s and 30s I didn't mind dating ten years older. Now I would maybe go up to about 5 years older. I have never dated more than maybe a year younger.

It depends upon how much "mileage" shows on the individual. Some older women like living fast and full, so their bodies age more than they actually are. The same with men/boys.
If you don't care about your health and welfare, getting back into re-sell-able shape for the market of "dating" can be near impossible for some. While for a few who do take considerable effort to care about their health and welfare, are in pretty decent shape, despite their actual age.
If she isn't hobbled with a walker, I can date a girl 10 or 20 years older. But I am sorry I don't date older men or younger men either. They're way to immature and full of manure.

Well i am in my 60's, i have dated 19yo for just over a year, after her i dated a 24yo but i have also dated an 82yo. Age is not an issue in my life, nor is size, race or religion. I just get on with it and enjoy life to the fullest.

When younger, still consider a guy that max 10 years older than me. After getting older, can see that some guys age very fast and still immature, so prefer to choose a guy closer to my age or a bit younger than me. Can't imagine those gap like 30 years. Will that be communication barrier when you meet someone that rarely experience some life experience that you gone through?

I get a lot of interest from women far younger than myself, but when I try to establish connections with women close to my own age I'm often ignored, and the ones that are close to my age that show interest in me are the ones that have not taken care of themselves, from the looks of some of the photos all they do is sit in front of the TV and eat. was married 27 years, lost my wife to cancer, I'm not looking to become a nurse made for a woman who can't take care of herself, that may sound selfish, but it is the reality.

... was married 27 years, lost my wife to cancer, ...

First and foremost, condolences - Lost my wife after 17 years together.

She happened to be 10 years younger, while age was irrelevant for us, it's now a matter of probability, there's just a greater probability someone my age is going to be more compatible.

That aside -

The whole premise of "mid-life crisis" baffles me, men my age intentionally reverting back to an age/lifestyle that experience should long since left a healthy sense of fear of.

Being with a woman solely based on physical attraction, to me, is terrifying, so much so that just talking to a woman who overplays her attractiveness makes me feel depressed.
