Topic: Valentines Day flood | |

I was thinking about Valentines Day coming up, and I was wondering how much these online dating websites get an increase of new profiles. There should be a total number of profiles listed somewhere, but I was thinking when would be the most increase... Would it be right before Valentines so they could find a date for that day or would it be right after because they don't want to go through another Valentines alone? Just thought I would get another discussion thread going here...lol

I can only provide an ex wife, who was moaning, because I never got expensive presents, ie 100+ quid worth, for V Day

Are you hoping for a big influx GR boy I would say after for men so they can avoid the ordeal of giving gifts and before for women who crave romance .

I think that there are a lot of people who don't like to spend any holiday alone, so they look for someone right before.

I don't think I've ever really seen an increase for any holiday on dating sites.
You used to read this happened before Christmas, but I've never noticed it. If nothing else, things slow down around holidays as people are with family, or maybe simply feeling sorry for themselves, offline. Valentine's Day won't do much here in my country either as very few celebrate it. Only some who already are in a relationship might give the partner a gift. I've never seen it as a dating thing. In a way it's the wrong thing for a date with a new person as it has the vibe of gift giving and you don't generally do that with a still-stranger. It'd make things unnecessarily awkward. The only things that maybe would see an increase before holiday days are outings for singles. Like dinner, and dancing maybe. |

That is what I was basically thinking...lol I remember someone (friend, movie character, maybe both) talking about breaking up after Thanksgiving and so I was just wondering if it actually shows up online with people actually doing it...lol |

The way the post's title was worded, I thought it might be about some past local natural catastrophe on St. Valentine's Day. It was actually intentional as I was typing it...lol The only Valentines bad thing I can think of though is the massacre in Chicago. |
