I just posted this question on one of my old threads, but I think people are sick of reading that thread so I thought I'd post a new one. Should a guy give a single rose on a first date? one person told me I should another said not until the second date. What do other people think?

i think you should quit worrying about what everyone else thinks and if you want to give a rose give it....who cares what date it is....its all about how you feel and what makes you happy

my personal opinion is it is a good idea, but I feel like it may give out a hint of desperation.

I would think it would be a nice gesture. Don't go over board though as that would be considered desperate. I dated someone who always had a little something for me each time we went out, a little stuffed animal or a flower. It was nice. I remembered each date from the little momentos.

The first "date" I had with TheCaptain was when we met in Baltimore and he met me at the airport with a dozen roses, a stuffed animal and chocolate. He didn't seem desperate, just romantic. And now I sleep with the stuffed animal, enjoyed the chocolate and still have the roses (dried of course). These things will always remind me of the first night I saw the love of my life in person.
So go ahead and do it!!! |

I would find a rose especially sweet on a 1st date, never had that experience. I wouldn't think someone like you would need to bring a rose, though

I think it's awesome they you want to tak eher a rose, I'd love to get flowers on a frist date or any date. Go for it, Good Luck

one of the girls i am seeing tomorrow seems like she would appreciate it, the other doesn't seem like she really has a romantic side. even when women say no to that stuff they really still appreciated and find it heart-warming... just some women have a hard time showing they are still into that stuff when society tries to encourage us to be strong and independant  so bring her one anyway even if she says no
