There's no opinion when it comes to enforcing and upholding the law.

It's double murder regardless of what anyone thinks.

Pro-Abortion and Pro-Choice are the same exact thing, by the way.

You can't be Anti-Abortion and Pro-Choice and you can't be Pro-Abortion and Anti-Choice. The only thing you can be is Pro-Choice and Pro-Abortion.
You are incorrect. I am anti-abortion, but pro-choice. There is no contradiction there.

That is impossible to be.

Pro-Choice = Supporting the right to abortions and thus Pro-Abortion as well.

I am anti abortion, but pro choice. Abortion is horrible, but so is bringing an unwanted child into the world.
Women have always aborted un wanted babies, or abandoned them, it is better to do it safely & as humanely as possible. What are you going to do tie a woman up for 9 months & force her to have the child?

Awww but what is not being considered here is the reason that Peterson was charged with double murder was due to the fact she was 8 months pregnant. Due to facts the baby could at that point and time live outside the womb without any problems. Matter of fact most at 6 months can and some have at 4 months survived. The Peterson case had a lot of barring on the fact the baby was 8 months term and could have been delivered and lived.

Or tell her about something called personal responsibility for her actions/choices. We are a society getting rid of all personal responsibilities and putting the burden on those who can maintain control of their own lives.

What's really amazing is that the people in this thread who are so adamantly pro-life in this thread have absolutely no qualms in other threads re the starting of wars in which collateral damage from aerial bombardments will undoubtedly take the lives of pregnant women and young children.

How's that for 'logic' and contradiction? Add to that, most pro-lifers will make absolutely no allowances for the health of the mother or for rape cases.

Back to the original topic, I also believe there is a double standard in the law that needs to be addressed. The loss of the Peterson baby is very real to his grandparents, but was it actually murder? His mother had named him,but he had not been born & no birth certificate was issued. When is someone legally a person? I would argue at birth, but I still think there should be punishment for the intention harm of a near term fetus.

Most pro lifers also believe in capitol punishment. That is not logical to me.

I agree with that. Personal repsonability means not getting pregnant to begin with unless you want a child, but , it happens & then what?

The MOST part is an overstatement. I'd go with many. Many can, many can't. The numbers go down the younger the child is. However, there are so many assumptions in that as well.

They are going on a COULD POSSIBLY, not on known evidential fact.

I just read an article where a man was charged with double murder for a 3 1/2 month old fetus when he killed its (his/her to me) mother.

"Amanda Lynn Hanson's death and that of her 31/2-month-old unborn fetus in Manitou Springs in August is prompting a push for a new law." - http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4191/is_20021013/ai_n10010080

The fact is, does life begin at birth or conception?

The PRO-CHOICE LOBBY has argued time and time and time and time again that life BEGINS at birth.

Original Sin

Plus, the one being given captial punishment committed a crime worthy of such a punishment, a child in the womb simply was conceived to a mother unable to take personality responsibility and didn't want the parasite.

Health of mother is the ONLY time you got me on the pro-choice, and on the rape thing I am really iffy, though I'd say leaning more towards choice.

By the way, for those who reply to my last three comments and I know all too well there will be many, I've had my say. I'm off to bed and there is no way I check tomorrow because I do not want to be bound to this forum all day saying the same thing over and over, in many different words, and looking at the clock and saying oh crap, I just wasted a whole day getting looping the same discussion over and over again.

Why make that exception? It still comes down to whether the woman wants the child or not. A fetus concieved by rape is not a life?

Okay, I will reply to this simply because you caught me right before I left.

I am iffy, on both really, I just see greater issue there than simply the woman saying, I don't want the parasite, even though it was my choice to get myself in this situation and I lack any personal responsibility, so rip the bastard out.

Way over the heads of people.
This is not rocket science.

Basically, I am stating that I don't feel it is right to force how I feel about something on other people. Especially if I am not in their shoes. And there is no way a man can be in those shoes, so that goes double for them.

That's one of the reason women have abortions. A man starts something, then runs away so he doesn't have to deal with the aftermath. Hmmmmmmmm
