Frankly, it p*sses me off. I have worked all my life, I was taught to work. I never drew a dime of unemployment up until about five years ago...thats a pretty good record, thirty years. Theres a guy down the road on disability....nothing wrong with him.....he can dig post holes and build chicken houses but he can't work? Yes, lets support him.

Collecting unemployment is one thing. You've worked for it and deserve it. It's temporary anyway. Now, those people who just sit on thier butts and collect welfare or other kinds of assistance is a totally different story. It's bad enough we have a government who spends OUR money like it's monopoly money. Those aholes that never work a day in thier life and have us pay for them to do nothing other than ride around in thier new cars and lay around in their rent free houses makes me want to pick them all off one by one. *hears the SWAT team coming in the distance*

I think unemployment is fine...it's the people who sit on their ass and collect welfare because they are lazy. I know people need it but there are people taking advantage of it. I had to go through a background check and drug test for my work...you think they would make welfare receipients do the same.

I think if they are Able to get a job they should work It more of a pride thing and there are some people who Take advantage of any system and milk it for all it's Worth i am not saying all people do this but there Are a lot of them that do this when there are Job's out there for them to have really where are these jobs with benefits ?? My dad worked for 30 years and got laid off which he took early retirement it took him over a year and a half to find a job for a lot less money and with 1/2 the benefits .. oh yah if you want to work at burger king .. |

Well, my brother "works" two months a year to collect unemployment. Somehow he is broke for 12 days of the 14 days he has to wait for unemployment. He really is a leech on society it's really sad. he's 28 and has no ambition or will to do anything besides smoke weed or drink. It's really sad I'm much younger have had a car since the day I drove and always keep busy with school or work. He's a real piece of work.

Unemployment is an insurance that your employer pays. It is a percentage based on the history of the employer. Therefor the more people that file for it the more it costs the employer. In return this drives up the cost of having employees therefor leaving less money to pay out in wages to those of us who are working. It is fine to use as a tool if it is needed while finding another job after a lay off. In my opinion to many people draw it out for as long as they can.

You can say both my brothers are screw ups. Difference is one tried to change his life and got screwed by it the other is just a leech. Luckily for my mother I seem to be a lot better than both of them.

Yes, lets support him. how many post holes does he dig at a time and how long does it take him to dig one and what does he do the next day most can do anything for a short time but they suffer for it for days afterward and do not get enough to hire it done walk in their shoes before condemning them but there are always some that will abuse the system and he did pay the premiums |

I pay into FICA and sense I am self employed I pay all of mine not just 1/2 like most do .. I thought that was social security ..

I don't know about your state but here they require you to look for work to collect unemployment. You also have to be working longer than a 18 months at a job (full time) in order to qualify for benefits. The only reason somebody would be collecting unemployment until it runs out isn't because they're lazy. It's because they can't find a job. The lazy ones don't need unemployment. That's what they have parents/friends/girlfriends,boyfriends/roommates for.
