Poor English is acceptable from people from other countries but, if you were born here, come on. There are people at my school who are LEARNING English and can write better than some of the locals. There’s no excuse for this.

One here and there doesn't bother me much because every once in a while we all slip one by here and there, but if it's constant, it annoys the @$%# out of me.

I like long drawn out sentences with no punctuation in the appropriate place it makes it much easier to read and follow especially if I insert something that is on a completely different train of thought hows the weather over there spelling doesnt really bother me whether it is right or wrong do you believe i am a spiritual guy has anyone seen my car keys I am a nice guy I was an english major in the college I didn't go to I also came out of the birth canal sideways I love you grammar is my life when is american idol on what do you think of my thought stream?

It doesn't bother me much when other people do it. But when I make a mistake I generally go back and edit it.

Doesn't bother me. The only thing that bothers me is when it's in a magazine, I mean, c'mon, editors get paid good to catch that, which means, they are getting paid for nothing. to see typos, misspelled words, and grammatical errors when people post on here? I am a former editor, so guess my opinion...lol My attitude is if you're going to write something for the purpose of communicating, to be understood, you might as well do it right or not waste your (and my) time. Nothing rankles like a pseudo-intellectual trying to say something "profound," and every other word is misspelled. How am I supposed to take someone seriously, when what they write looks like it was cobbled together by a dyslexic second grader? |
