date someone that saw a psychiatrist or similar professional before you guys met, and still sees them?
some people need some sort of guidance, besides it'sa in the bible to seek counsel from the wise and in all things. some people need more counsel than others. if you need to know ask that person why they are doing that.

There is a therapist i have seen over the past 2 or so years....she is an excellent professional....at one time i met with her regularly....now only periodically when i need an objective view from somebody that knows me well.....sometimes it is nice to have someone who knows how to make me look within myself & she understands me, is not romantically connected to me, and wants to help me be a better person.....

I would say true that, but only if they know they are crazy, if they don't admit to it they tend to be very inhibited.

depends on what they were seing them for.. There are some illnesses that you just don't want to get involved with...

sounds like you already got caught up in some sh*t

No darlin' not at all.. I studied psych a bit and grew up with my parents working in mental institutions.. believe me some sh*t you just don't want to have in your life.. same goes for people that aren't seeing a psychiatrist but probably should, their crap is just way more than we need to deal with..

I studied psychology for 7 years -- in my experience, most people who seek out a professional are doing so because they realize they need some help.

And I've never met anyone who can solve all of their own problems entirely by themselves....we all need a little help sometimes....

it depends why they are seeing them. I mean if they have multiple personality or something then no. If its for normal stuff, like stress or family issues or something sure.

I guess it would just depend on the reason why they were seeing a psychiatrist. My brother is a psychiatrist and he has a lot of patients that see him and he says that there are a lot of people that are "normal" and just need someone to talk to. BUT then again...I think if you are a psychiatrist you are not really "normal" yourself. Of course I am just talking about my brother...we tell him he is half crazy himself!

I see a psychatrist (the one that prescribes pills) and if they have a problem with it thats on them.

I find it a tad insulting to assume just because someone has a mental illness - I have borderline personality disorder, but haven't had any problems for a few years -- you wouldn't date them.
