I have no idea. I am honest when I write and think. It doesn't mean I'm necessarily right though.

I think that if a person lies about themselves in person they are going to lie just as much in a profile and vice versa.. a liar is a liar. JMO.

Its usually more for some,after all the idea is to attract, some take it like its a resume' applying for a "job" so add BS,so pretty much every guy is a nice poetic guy that cooks lol.Some do less from self doubt and unsure what to say,while others are overbearing and use "I" or "Want" alot.Pretty much the honest ones are factual and dont hype it up,those are the ones worth paying attention too..so its a mix of all three,the wanters,the needers and the shy diamonds in the rough
