Yes... It seems that the giant d-bag.. loud mouth.. left wing pony boy that no one watched is out at MSNBC..

I will hate to see him go..

NEW YORK – MSNBC host Keith Olbermann announced Friday that he is leaving the network and has taped his last "Countdown" show.

MSNBC issued a statement that it had ended its contract with the controversial host, with no further explanation. Olbermann hosted the network's most popular show, but his combative liberal opinions often made him a target of critics.

Olbermann did not explain why he was leaving.

"MSNBC thanks Keith for his integral role in MSNBC's success and we wish him well in his future endeavors," the network said.

A spokesman said Phil Griffin, MSNBC's president, would not comment on Olbermann's exit. Spokesman Jeremy Gaines would say only that the acquistion of NBC Universal by Comcast, which received regulatory approval this week, had nothing to do with the decision.

Olbermann was suspended without pay from the network for two days in November for donating to three Democratic candidates, which violated NBC News' policy on political donations. Olbermann complained that he was being punished for mistakenly violating an inconsistently applied rule that he had known nothing about.

The host apologized to fans — but not to the network.

Olbermann, before leaving the show with a final signature toss of his script toward the camera, thanked his audience for sticking with him and read a James Thurber poem.

rather unfortunate. It was nice having him around as a sort of icon of the Stupid Left in the MSM. Now that he's gone, the Stupid Right has quite a bit more leverage on infusing ignorant, stupid ideas into the brains of Boobus Americanus. Besides, he was more funny (in an absurd way) than most MSM talking heads.

I was amazed they uttered the words "success" and "MSNBC" in the same sentence? I heard they actually thought of hiring those guys on youtube....what's there names? the turds?...no no... the turks that's right. Lol good luck MSNBC, you will need it if you even considered hiring those clowns!

I suspect that NBC-Universal is trying to re-invent itself as Fox Noise Lite to survive.

Myself, I find ALL the Talking Heads annoy me too much so I stopped watching Tee Vee altogether a few years ago. It's easier to get hard news off the Internet without all the schtick and spin.

And it's ALWAYS better to think for yourself rather than being a partisan droid.

MSNBC is owned by General Electric hardly a liberal organization. This should serve as a wake up call that the Media is simply a propaganda arm of corperate america. So yes the same people who wrecked the economy also control most of the information you recieve to form an opinion.

Its a sad day for sure just one more nail in the coffin of the american dream.

Comcast owns NBC Universal.

Sad day bullshiit he breached the terms of his contract by monetary donations to three Democrats and he claimed he didn't know he couldn't do it. Typical liberal, they screw up and its never their fault.

Good riddance.

Good riddance.
After nearly nine months of negotiations, Comcast, the nation’s largest cable operator, announced an agreement on Thursday to acquire NBC Universal from the General Electric Company.
The agreement will create a joint venture, with Comcast owning 51 percent and G.E. owning 49 percent.

I stand corrected by two percent. I suppose you have no memory of the Bush nightmare years? Oberman helped get me through them.

Yup the same folks who created the disaster that umerika is today also bring you the news..........

There is a certain type of people who stay at home and watch tv. They are called shut ins, they are a demographic that are easy targets for marketing. Ya know those people who buy Shamwows. Most of us progresives are not this type of people. Anyhow to claim fox news is good or informative because it is the most popular with americans who sit in at home seems to me rather laughable.

Information and entertainment are separate things.
Entertainment gets ratings.

Olberman was not getting them ratings.

The MSM of today is pure spin anyway. If, they just reported the fact without their opinion, then, we could claim real news.

It took some googling but I found a reliable source that confirms that during the 2007-2008 television season, the most recent season for which figures are available, the average age of Fox News viewers was 65:

According to a study released by Magna Global’s Steve Sternberg, the five broadcast nets’ average live median age (in other words, not including delayed DVR viewing) was 50 last season. That’s the oldest ever since Sternberg started analyzing median age more than a decade ago — and the first time the nets’ median age was outside of the vaunted 18-49 demo…

Among ad-supported cable nets, the news nets (along with older-skewing Hallmark Channel, Golf Channel and GSN’s daytime sked) sport the most gray, with Fox News Channel’s daytime and primetime skeds the absolute oldest, clocking in with a median age above 65. (Emphasis added.)

There is hope for the future, however the future seems so bleak for young people in america I am almost sorry I had children.
