I was recently contacted by a man saying he was in Afghanistan. We chatted and right away he was telling me how beautiful I was, and if I would date him. Sounded weird to me for that to happen so fast, but I fell for it. It wasn't long and he told me how much he loves me and really piled it on thick. He told me he was doing a secret mission and no one could know where he was nor could he call on cell phones. I'm starting to get suspicious, but again I didn't want to believe it. A few days later he suggested that there was an actual way for us to talk and the US Army would contact me to get info and because he can't even have access to his bank account that I would have to pay for it. My make believe world came to an end at that time. I did get an email from 'U S Army' but knew immediately it wasn't from our Army'.
The grammar was horrible. To make a long story short, I confronted him with it all. He emailed me back admitting he was doing all this. Ladies, please be careful. If someone falls in love with you that quickly.....be cautious. If they are widowed and have a sob story to tell you, be cautious. If they plan a future with you that quickly, run.........these guys are smart, they have an answer for everything. I've only been on this site for 4 days and have already had 3 guys trying to scam me. Guys, I don't mean to bash all of you, I know the majority of you are good guys. But be aware women are doing the same thing to you too. I can now pick up on a scam pretty quick, but I also like to play their game for a while, just to waste their time. I will never give out my personal info to anyone, nor will I ever send you any money for any reason. So if you want to contact me and have a real conversation I am really a caring person. I put God first in my life, then my family and the last thing I need is someone trying to take advantage of me. |

This site is loaded with scammers.

I believe scammers come from third parties who pass email addresses on to them. We need to put a stop to third parties doing this. Maybe if search engines would have the right security for this, one day, it will help a lot.

It really is terrible, i have ran into several men on this site who are scammers and have done the same thing. As i have other sites as well, you really have to be careful now days when dating online. What really bothers me is they use our service men and woman's photos to do there scamming, its bad enough that they use regular ppls photos. Let alone someone fighting for our country! it pisses me off.

My first scam came from facebook. He took on the name and picture of a guy I went to school with. He even had a lot of my old classmates as friends as well.....all females of course. They friend you then look at your friends and scam them also. I actually found one picture he posted on a website warning of Nigeria scams. So trust me I take a look at that site for anyone that contacts me now.

I can really understand that, im pretty cautious when it comes to anything online. they, like you said can take anyone's photo anywhere at anytime and use it. i had one of them tell me how they ask you for several photos so they then can use them at their will. its really crazy.

oh my, I got one to admit to me what he was doing. He is 29yrs old and promised me he would get out of doing it. Of course I don't believe him, but we still chat once in a while and he still loves me and wants to have a future with me....lol
I enjoy wasting there time and playing their games. I now have all my friends on fb hid so no one can see them. Crazy world we live in. |

it is a crazy world. the guy that was texting me, was in ghana using a California number to text and when i called the number cuz i was suspicious it belonged to a guy in florida. its scary to think they can be pretty smart at what they do.

I face them many times through my e-mail addresses. Once i even went almost the distance. Can i suggest one thing? We have atleast 1 thing in common. So why not we chat? I am no scammer. Lol |

I met a guy on here and he seemed really awesome. We got to talking and EVERYTHING we liked was the same. He would ask me a question and I would answer and he would say, "OMG, me too!" At first I was thinking, okay that's a little creepy. But then it was nice to find someone who liked all the same things. He kept saying how weird it was that we liked the same things. We exchanged numbers and started talking on the phone. He then started talking about getting married and moving me out to another state where he owns a bunch of land and is building a house. He said it was not built yet and I could have my say in how it's built. He said he was going to buy me a car and buy me a new mattress (I had mentioned it gave me back pain). He is a truck driver and makes so much money, according to him. It started getting fishy so I told him I was busy and would call him later. I got a text message the next morning saying that I was a slut and a player because I added 3 new photos to my Mingle account. I added them all at the same time the first day I joined. I told him that I hadn't been on the site lately and he said that my profile said within the last day. I told him I might have but just to remove some winks. He said that he was going to do us both a favor and end this relationship now because he can't be with a woman who was a cheater. I was like, OMG! We aren't even in a relationship! I'd be so glad to get rid of your number!

I get a lot of scammers emailing me and I all I have to do is read their email or profile and I know that they are scammers.

I am always careful when talking to some people that have contacted me. I never give out my full name to any one. I have talk with a few people and one the third E-mail they want me to use a credit card to verify who I am. I click delete. First I don’t have a credit card, don’t like owing anyone. Second if I do buy stuff off the Internet, it is with prepaid cards.

I met one recently, really nice looking and profile was in order, however, he never answered all the questions I ask him in email. After a couple days, I realized he probably was a scammer. Often times, you can not detect it right off, depends on how clever the person is. But I am much Cleverer.
