Most people I know will keep them up until the new year. The lazy ones will still have their xmas lights up in July.

I suppose if I took viagra... I could keep it up! to New Years..lol...
Ok... maybe not New Years; they say after 4 hours you should consult a physician.. laugh  ..

..hi..u..waving ... I was going to take mine down, on New Years... but the boys want to go see the new Hobbit movie..... so next weekend it all comes down.... in some ways it's nice to put the house back together.. it signals back to normality..... but it always saddens me to see it go... it seemed, like such a rushed Christmas this year...
... some of me would like to drag it out a little longer...
... but on word and upward.....hmm.. maybe I can sell that as the new slogan for Viagra..lol.... happy new year everyone..drinker

Traditionally not till after Twelfth Night, I usually take it down around that time. I do always miss it, the coloured lights in the tree, the lovely wreaths I made ... the huge emptiness in the room without the tree

The thought of having to pull the dining table, and the rug it's on, back in place .. not appealing.. Lifting all the boxes with decorations back on the loft whilst standing on a stepladder.. not looking forward to that either!
I think I'm gonna wait another week, maybe a month.. or 2 lol

Decorations go up the first of December and I want a clean sweep by New Years. So... all was down the 26th this year. My day off. Yippie Skippie.

If I had my way, I would leave all decorations up all year long.
But people think that is weird.
We are slaves to being politically correct :-(

Oh, look, something shiney.....

The time in the past was the 1st of February, as it was a winter festival celebrated from the 11th of November all the way to the 1st Feb. Well it was in Europe anyway. Read up about it?

There is really no specific time. It will get done sometime in January.

that is a brilliant idea... blondie...
. unfortunately I'm a consumer.
my tree is fake....lol... but it is decorated with ornaments.. that my ex and I purchased every year.. one for every year... and then one for every year the boys had a Christmas..
.... so my tree is full of memories... up to this point they were all good memories... however this year decorating the tree.... was somewhat of a painful reminder.... but I like your idea.... you are truly a tree hugger... and I mean that in a good way..
. although the tree.. you cut down for Christmas... probably doesn't feel the same way...lol
