That would make sense, but the US mint does not do it that way. The same number can be used on the 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 dollar bills for each year. So collectors will get a set of all the bills that year, I guess the holy grail would be the 000000000001 bills.

I just went and looked at that site again, even though it is done by the WheresGeorge people, it is different. For WhersWilly you only need the serial number from the bill. WheresGeorge you have to put in the serial number, year, and denomination. But it does say "any Canadian Bank Note" so maybe the serial numbers are different for each denomination there.

Production is only suspended for now, so they do plan on making more later on according to government website. The media is the one that is making a big deal about losing the penny...

That is just something I read about and actually remembered. Most of the time I remember the information long after the question was asked so I don't think playing trivia would work out well for me...lol

That is the public answer they are pushing now, we know our government can not do anything to actually save money...lol

But really, only the circulating pennies have stopped being produced. They are still making the limited runs for the coin collectors. My guess is that they are working on finding a new alloy that is cheaper than zinc for the filler material, or they are just going to wait until zinc prices fall again.

There is a regulation about how much of each bill each bank is suppose to have on hand during business hours. The $2 bill and the dollar coins are required, but just at the bank and not the registers. So some times they have to go in the back to get them (which means the lazy tellers might say they are out).

Maybe that is the real reason that trump pushed to stop the penny, it was just a reminder that presidents use to be honest...lol

The $1 is still a big part of circulation...especially in the stripper bars...lol It is the one cent penny that they just stopped making, but it is still currency and usable. I do not know why the media made a big deal about it, there are so many out in circulation now that they really do not need to make more. The $2 bill is still being made also, but it is like the $1 coins...most people don't like using them.

I do not have a stamp either, I just write the "www.wheresgeorge.com" website on the bill with a pen. It is not part of the government and they do not help at all. It would be nice if they would at least send out a list of bills that they had to destroy so you would know.

I was just curious if anyone here did the WheresGeorge money tracking. I do it every once in a while, started when my son was little and his school did it.

I figured I would google map these, but the Museum is the closest one and it is about 5 miles. The other two are over in Dearborn it looks like...lol One of the other maps I though had the Ford Museum around the corner from the hotel but google does not show it. I guess I will just wing it like usual...lol

Sometimes I think it can build up, I have seen people that seem to be fine for a long time and then one day they just freeze up or break down from what ever you want to call it. It does not even have to be anything big, like they say 'The straw that broke the camel's back' type of thing. That is the one I would worry about...if I worried...lol

The heart just tells them that you like them, you use to be able to click the heart again to remove it but not any more. Once you click it then it stays.
Clicking the X only removes the profile from your search results, but even that is not forever. Profiles will pop back up, it seems random though so it is probably another mess up that the programmers here are unable to fix.
To actually block them it looks like you can only do it through the mail system. So a message has to be to them or from them. Then under the message box it gives you the option to block them, I do not see it on the profile anymore.
