When I googled Canada EV show copyrights it looked like it was only 50 years. Either way it is longer than I would want to wait...

Same here, haha.
It's already been 14 years since the last Mantracker season. I feel 15 years would be long enough.
I could wait for it to be back in 2026 :)
I mean, that's another 19 days, haha.

I think it's one of these shows that was absolutely brill, and that can't and won't ever be brought back to our screens again.

I hope you are wrong on that. Or maybe they are waiting for the copyright laws to run out. They seem to be bringing back some of the old 70's shows now...

Yeah, I'd thought of that as well.
I thought copyright was about 25 or 50 years, but it is a helluva lot longer!

Now I'd be quite happy to see it come back over some 95 years time. Means I get to be at least in my 150s, haha. I wouldn't mind, as long as I stay healthy, agile & mobile. And good-looking, lol.

A TV show's copyright generally lasts for 70 years after the death of the principal creators (writer, director, composer) in most countries, but it can be different for specific elements like broadcasts, which might be 50 years from publication, and corporate works (like studio-owned shows) can last 95 years from publication or 120 from creation in the U.S., making it quite a long time, often extending well beyond a single creator's life.

Survivorman and Ray Mears Survival seem to boyscoutish if you know what I mean. Yeah they know there stuff, but I like the out side the box ideas also.

If they remade ManTracker here in the state, they could keep it a cowboy type or spin it a little and go with a Native American. They were said to be some of the best trackers in the world and then they could slip in some Native American history through out the show. Some with Australia, the Aborigines are suppose to be the best trackers there. I am sure they could change things up just enough to make the lawyers happy, or work it out to use the name again.

Would be a really good idea for sure. Except I think there'd be a helluva lot of flak when a Native American would be chasing & capturing Caucasians. Certainly if it were women, and men probably wouldn't even sign up for it.
Same with Aborigines.

I think it's one of these shows that was absolutely brill, and that can't and won't ever be brought back to our screens again.

What Would Be Your Answer to Your Husband or Wife,
if they Bring Up the Subject of a Threesome ? οΏΌ

Spicing up things makes the relationship less boring

If you feel that way it's time to have a good talk with each other, and possibly leave the relationship. When feeling this way it may be dead already, you just forgot to bail ship when it went under.

The (new?) rule of dealing with photos is odd.
I had a photo removed a few days back.
I got a mail saying I had to use photos that clearly showed my face and nothing else and a smile.
Now my photo did clearly show my face and I did smile. You could also see a bit of my Christmas tree in the background.
But my entire face was in clear view in the foreground.

Looking at other people's photos, newer accounts so from after the change here, there is one on a motorbike in the distance that doesn't show a face at all. Too far away and wearing a helmet.
Another one with a giraffe almost covering his face.
Full body photos that don't even show a head in the thumbnail.
Photos with sunglasses and/or hats & caps.
And so on.

That is okay & allowed, yet one with your face AND smile in plain view with a bit of a Christmas tree in the back gets removed?

Doesn't make sense to me.
If you cannot have anything in the background they'd have to remove tons of photos, including yours.
It's just silly.

Cats and squirrels are usually too small to set of the motion lights, depending on what sensitivity level they are set on. The one I have on my front porch is set very sensitive and most of the time my basset hound dog can not set it off but my goat can since he is a little bigger.

The one at the back is the same as the new one I have yet to put up. It does go on when my cats walk to the backdoor even though I put the light at its recommended height. Just over 2 meters.
I may put the other one a little bit higher as I get quite a lot of neighbour cats on the driveway area. I don't want it to go on all the time because of that. Then test if it still works properly to pick up motion when I walk around.

I thought of doing it yesterday, but I'm waiting for a day with a bit of sunshine.

Thanks, I'll check that out later on.
It brought to mind that we actually had a Dutch version of this concept as well. I believe some 15 years ago.

I gave Survivorman a try, didn't like that much either, then decided to watch a few Ray Mears Survival episodes on YouTube. You can never go wrong with Ray Mears.
It's not chasing of course, but always very informative and relaxing.
I always say that if something is to happen, a major disaster, I wanna be with Ray Mears, haha.
He can keep you safe, fed, sheltered and warm regardless of the weather and location.
Like Terry Grant, he's also helped military learn certain survival skills.

In any case, considering several shows concerning chasing/tracking, the Mantracker series is by far the best concept of all.
The production people must really have had their heads up their @$$es to not give Terry what he wanted so they could've made many more seasons of the show.
They had the goose that laid golden eggs in their hands and then killed it.
And they have a copyright on the name mantracker -which is insane in itself- and likely the concept of the show too.
I gather that's why no one else did their own version of it like they did with the Hunted concept.
Otherwise Americans could easily have done it, and probably would have since it was so popular. They got cowboys, the vast stretches of wilderness and so on.
Same for Australia.
Yet no one ever did. I guess no one is interested in getting sued.

I'm not a man, obviously, but now that you ask the question... I don't think so.
I've never thought about it till I read your question but what I see and notice many men like Asian women but then it's the Thai, Philippine, Japanese type. Not Indian.
The ones that stay slender. I think that plays a big role.
Now I do assume in countries with many Indian people, like the UK, it will happen. But generally speaking I don't think men think of Indian women when they say they like Asian women.

Yeah, the Hunted thing is not what I'd hoped it'd be.
I was really disappointed when they caught this Ricky Allen after using the general public to catch him. I felt that was going too far. The man is a GP for crissake. Very damaging for his reputation.
And doing house-searches and stuff...
I'd never ever sign up for that. Way too invasive to be entertainment.
As you say, it's about showing how good the police are at getting fugitives.

At least having been Mantracker prey wouldn't have an adverse effect on your reputation. And even though someone was seriously out to get you as well, there was an element of fun involved.

Motion detector lights are nice to know if there is movement outside. It might be just a stray dog but it will at least tell you something is moving outside while you are in the house.

If someone is going to rob a house during a blackout, I would think they would go to the house with all the lights out so they figure there is no power going there which means no cameras. If your house has a light on then they might wonder if you have power to any cameras also.

Good point! Thanks!
I never realised cameras were so important and creating the illusion you might have them is helpful.
I will just go for the light :)
And yes, it'll go on when there's an animal, including (my) cats. Maybe I'll put it up a little bit higher so it doesn't switch on for nothing that often.

Thinking... how long it will take to charge my phone from my new powerbank.
And how much it'll drain it.

So far 4% added to my phone, 1% from the power-bank.

Don't know, I'm not in America, not an American, so I don't know the show with naked people, haha.

I was born in '66, so I can't remember women in mini dresses as I was a baby & toddler myself. Just some photo I've seen and series like ST original etc.

I watched an episode of Hunted tonight. It is entirely different indeed, takes getting used to.
Then again it can be equally interesting to learn how you can get away, what to do and what not etc.
Cause of that I may watch a few episodes.
But I would've preferred if it has been like Mantracker: 1 or 2 people per episode.
Then you can also skip an episode if you don't like the people without missing anything.
And of course I miss watching that super hot man on a horse, haha.

A show with people dating nekkid?!? noway

I thought things would be different nowadays due to political correctness, sexual harassment and whatnot.
I figured people would start screaming bloody murder if women were portrayed as lust objects these days.
I guess not, haha.

Personally I'd not walk around in a minidress the length of the ones in the 60s. Just because you'd get hassled so much I really wouldn't feel safe.
I've often wondered about that one, if men in those days were maybe more respectful of women.

And yeah, almost a new topic, haha.
Although to get back to it... I have to say I'm having difficulty moving on from Mantracker.

But... I got Hunted ready to go on Tubi. Just not watching it, yet, haha.
Yes, the British reality show version.

Thank you, ladies!
I will get the Makita out one of these days and put the new light up on the garage so there's light there too :)

And yes, I'll keep it set to motion only, otherwise there isn't going to be much juice in them now it's winter.
And since it's a really bright light that shines for at least 15 meters it'll be quite the shock if it switches on out of the blue.

That area in front of the garage can be really dark. There are no houses next to me on that side either.
Once the street light across the street from me was broken. During that time the driveway was pitch black. There could've been 20 people standing there, I would not be able to see them.
Would be the same during a power outage.

I'll better get that light up soon!

Of late everyone in The Netherlands got a letter from government about a potential emergency situation, the need for having an emergency kit with food & candles and so on.

Right now big question I'm stuck with and would like your view on...

I got a real bright solar light at the back, one above the front-door and a new bright one that I have yet to put up.
It was meant for the driveway area in front of my garage as that area is quite dark.
All are set to go on when there's motion and off after 30 seconds.

But now I'm thinking...
Does having outdoor lights on attract hooligans and/or burglars and/or looters?
After all it does make it easier for them to see?
It's something I've been wondering about for some years.
Police says a well lit up house keeps burglars away, but would this really be true?

My girlie has the same thoughts and switches outdoor lights off at night for the same reason.
Like at my back door, because of the bright solar light, potential burglars can easily work to get inside with full light.
And no one will see them there, perfectly hidden from sight with good light to 'work'.

What is the smart thing to do? Certainly if there was to be a blackout as then it'll be pitch-black outside and a house with outdoor solar lights will stand out like a sore thumb.

I do not live in the sticks, but not in a town/city either. A village that's normally relatively safe, some 1500 people.

And if it would be a good thing, then maybe I should set them to burn non-stop, not just when there's motion? Although solar will burn out faster that way, certainly now during the gloomy winter days.

What do you guys think?

Depending on the state of the relationship I might want to consider a M M F.
But I don't think that's what most man will have in mind when they suggest a threesome.

I'd wanna know his reasons for wanting sex with another woman present. Generally a man cannot even fulfill one woman, so why want two?

Honestly, I think it's the death of a relationship, unless both feel very safe and secure with one another and have solid self-confidence etc.

For some it works, wouldn't be my cup of tea.

Oh yes, the Star Trek women, haha.
Not just Kirk's love interests but also the female crew.
As I remembered it they wore very shirt mini dresses, but when I watched it again at some point realised they weren't mini dresses but tunics with knickers/hot pants in the same colour.

I found myself thinking, wow you wouldn't get away with that kind of thing anymore!
But then you mention Baywatch, haha. Even more risquΓ©.

I personally am not into BDSM either, but to play with the strong dynamics in writing is great! In a way it requires even more trust and respect and deep bond than a regular relationship.

In any case, time to find something else to watch. I watched Mantracker twice as I somehow missed a lot the first time round.
Maybe going to give Hunted a go.

My ex husband often said "ciao bella!" when he left for work.

In relationship with my 2nd partner I was called "Angel" by everyone, the first part of my name. I used to use that to sign my paintings.
If I answered the phone with my full name people thought they'd dialed the wrong number, haha.
But after some 10 years I got fed up with never being called by my full name.
If someone now calls me "Angel" I'm not amused.

Since some 8 years I also sign my paintings with with my full name. No more "Angel" for me!

Pretty danged good that I was able to help set up the Christmas tree for my mum.
She can't do it herself and I wanted her to have some Christmas cheer in the house since she's had a very difficult couple of months after falling, breaking her hip, surgery, recovery etc.
Then falling a 2nd time, thank goodness nothing broken that time but a good scare nonetheless.

So being able to do this for her, yup, made me happy and she's happy too!
