The problem is that thongs are not supposed to be worn with jeans, most jeans are "low rise" the two just don't go together.

With "low rise" jeans one should wear "hipsters".

Thongs are for form fitting slacks (god did I just use that old lady word?) and skirts where you don't want a panty line.
