is too short to date again after a divorce?

i think it really depends on how the marriage ended and how you're feeling about dating. if it was a long seperation and a drawn out divorce dating right away would be normal

I agree ... sometimes you checked out emotionally long before you left the marriage physically.

ummm....errr....some people date BEFORE they are divorced. Are you talking about you or someone you are interested in dating?

whenever you feel comfortable...it is natural to be cautious
and it is also natural to be reckless. so be careful.

I don't think there is a time limit, if you are over him and ready to move on start going out.

We have the 1 yr mandatory separation period before you can file for divorce here, and that helps slow things down a little (not for everyone, I realize, b/c many will still date if just separated). I think Peccy's right, you do need to give yourself proper time and space to really feel all the different stages of the breakup - it's a grieving process of sorts. You want to go into the next relationship with as clean a slate as possible to give it the best chance of success you can. JMO

If I had been smart I would have lost the hurt feelings the day she said she wanted one.

Date! Life is too short.

Sooooooooooooo true. For me, it had BEEN OVER way before he left. It only lasted a yr. Hell, he was screwing around with other women, I knew it. I couldn't stop it. I'm gratefull he's gone.

That varies from person to person. If you're still pissed, hurt or harboring feelings of murder then I'd say it's best to get over those feelings before dating because you will wind up most likely judging every man for your ex's faults and you most definitely cannot judge every man for the things an ex has put you through. flowerforyou

The time it takes for a divorce is quite lengthy so I would say to start dating immediately. drinker

To me it all depends on your emotions. Even though I was married foe 2 1/2 years, I NEVER should have married him. The best part of my marriage was my wedding day. I was long over him the day I moved out and got my own place. I wish you luck in what your searching for.........

Different strokes, different folks.
Most divorces take so long, if you think the time is right; as long as you are legally seperated; do as you chose.
