why is it so high? 3 out of 5 marriages end in divorce or separation happen? why? i think people think they are in shops and they pick up an item, use it for a while, discard it and try something new or upgraded. that seems to be marriage these days i think. i dunno....

The # 1 cause of divorce , is marriage!!

I think some marriages are entitled to a divorce. But then you also have young couples who are inexperienced with life that don't understand what it takes to make a marriage work. I was in one of them. Course, at the time I had no idea that my husband had been cheating on me throughout the entire marriage but I tried real hard to make it work because I believed in it. That was 15 years ago and even though I understand what it takes to make a marriage work, I'm not going to take the plunge again until I know exactly what I'm getting into!

Well divorce is a better option than murder.. in most cases anyway

Can't speak for everybody but when my ex cheated on me it was over...

So my answer is, a serious lack of morals and values in American.

I dont know about that... I lost everything twice... murder coulda helped me out some

thats why some prefer to live together instead of getting married, i know 2 differnt couples that have been together for over 27yrs. and one couple has 2 kids and the other have 3 kids....
the 2nd couple i heard they got married but not sure if that was true...

and if you ever heard of palimony its sorta like alamony but palimony is when you live with someone for 3yrs and you go your separate ways you can file for payment

Heck I've lost everything 3 times.... and they say women get it all... not true in my case.. but heck I'd rather have nothing than have kept the husband!!

Unrealistic expectations, an inability to consider the possibility of potential problems ahead of time, a sense of "I can change/fix this person," misunderstanding of each other's goals, etc., poor communications skills, abject stupidity....
