I lost a friend who was in Afghanistan.. His unit was attacked by a road side bomb. I just can't get the image of his truck getting blown up out of my mind... all I can see is his face and fire.. I don't know how to get rid of these awful images I see in my mind...

So sorry for your loss.
Maybe you can do something to remind you of him, a memorial or such. I don't know of anything to take this vision out of your head other than time, sorry. Try to concentrate on the good times with him and maybe they will push out the bad memory. If you have any photos, home movies, concentrate on those images, and maybe they will help push out the horrible image.

I have lost many friends that were in the military remember the good times with your friend, that may help prayer is what works for me it may sound corny but it works I'll be praying for you and your friend's family  |

I wish the fighting would just stop. I know it's not likely for the war to stop. But we need our troops home. Sorry to read your friend's departure.
