Hi everyone.Ihave been widowed getting on for 5 years now. I still experience all the feelings of loss during `downtimes' when I'm not keeping myself busy or occupying myself in some way.

I was so lucky that I had the chance to be Merried to the best Friend and Lover for almost 20 years. Her name, Annette. I loved her every day. Her Body gave up on 10-11-2012 @ 11:10 AM. NOW What?

Today would have been 30 years. He died 2005. Some days distance and memory are kind. Today...?

I was widowed 2 years on Feb 17, we were together 26 years. I think its time to live again but the dating thing really sucks. I have had a few dates but nothing to brag about. Don't really want to give up just yet, have tried other dating sites and met many scammers.

I don't mean to steal the thread, but when my wife of almost 28 years gave me about 10 minutes notice she was leaving, she might as well have died. It kills us all in one way or another. In most ways, I think you are better off having had successful relationships and having a loved one love you until the end.

Marriage two lasted about 2.8 years. Since we loved each other more deeply, it still killed me when she wanted out. I tried for a solid year to change her mind...she wouldn't have any of it. When I said I would leave and divorce her we became great friends. Odd the way things work.

I'm going to date slowly, live carefully, love deeply and die happy. Who wants to help?

My husband and I were together for 8 years and I have been a widow for 9.5 years the crazy thing about it is, I am not sure where all the 9.5 years went ?
It doesnt seem like it was that long ago.

First few years, most people are in a fog & don't realize it. After that, there seems to be need for a time of adjusting to how the "single" world has changed. Then figuring out you "really want" & adjusting to that information.

I've been widowed for 10 yrs. in Oct. We were together for 23yrs. minus a 1yr. separation. I am just beginning to truly heal.
