When you look at the world today...with the way things and events are
unfolding around us...the way society has changed over the
years...morals and core value's dimminishing...Am I alone on thinking
that we are living in the 'END OF DAYS?'sad

I have been tempted to draw that conclusion before, but then I take a
look back into history when people must have thought those were the last
days. I look at times like WWII, the Spanish Inquisition, the Black
Plague...people then must have thought it was the end.

Is society really any less moral than it has been in the past? I don't
think our morality really gets worse, it just changes in different ways.

and most religious scholars anymore say the end of the world doesn't

If the polar ice caps melting at this rate is global warming, then yes
in some ways we are in the last days. At least the last days of life as
we are accustomed to living it.

Still, the changing universe is a proven thing and we can not stop it's
motion. So at some point we will become extinct, even if it's with the
demise of the entire planet. Are we close to that?

The changes in this universe are pretty unpredictable, there is no
answer and so far God has proven to be silent on the issue.

I believe we are in the beginings of the End Times. I did an endtime
Bible study (www.endtime.com) and it was so amazing to do the study and
turn the news on and see right there on the news that the Bible
prediction was happening - right now, today (At the time the Gaza strip
was being given up and that is spoken of in the Bible) - and to then see
the history of biblicial events and how they tied to world history.
Just an example is that it is predicted that the birthing pains will
begin with earthquakes like never seen before and if you look at the
tsunamis and just different things - you can so see it happening.

the Gods have returned to us from Asguard,This is all I can ask, as will
My children and those who follow me into the final Fray.

Eat well, drink well, love well and live well. For the rest you can do
nothing.

It's not the end of days, we are not alone in the universe and Elvis
isn't dead. He just went home. Satisfied?

ChristianGirl, I have always found it amazing that poeple have to
gather together to discuss, to figure out exactly what the Bible is
saying "Bible Study". Why is it that a clear thinking educated person
can not pick up the Bible and understand it without, someone
interpreting it for them?

Another thing, the end days have been predicted many times before. It
fact it was predicted to the day, when the day passed and another one
was here, oddly enough faith did not diminish, it simply did some more
Bible study and discoverd that the date had been miscalculated. The
strange thing as that no new date was released.

To read Nostradamos and to hear how others relate it, time and again, to
different historical events, is like watching those who "study the
Bible" relate historical events to what the Bible is saying. And they do
it time and again. If it's in there, shouldn't it be visible, shouldn't
it be knowledge to all? Why would God write in code? Why would God
make it's words so obscure as to require interpretation?

Bible study, just in my opinoin, is an exercise in creativity.

There is no "End Days". The book of Revelation already came to pass.
John, who wrote "Revelation" later wrote the letters John 1,2 and 3. And
in John3 he writes "...the Antichrist walks the EARTH NOW", and mentions
that same phrase several times.

Creation never ceased. Nor will it cease.

"...morals and core value's dimminishing"

I would disagree. If you beleive that there will be a 2nd coming, then
you have to agree that the world is moving towards a 'better place' -
the 'new jerusalem' is the ultimate destination.

I agree with Ydalnogard but it seems that todays technology makes Bible
prophecy a little more feasible.

There is nothing wrong with bible study...to each his own. I think
Revelations is a matter of interpretation of the individual. The
antichrist is to rule the Earth for 1000 years. How long has he been at
it? Is this the end of the 1000 year run? Times certainly are
changing....and not in a good way. This is world chaos. Disease, nation
against nation, starvation, pestilence, nashing of teeth, suffering etc.
When has so many countries, including the U.S., experienced such utter
hardship in such magnitude. Total calamity shared to different degrees
in different ways by various societies. Something is going to break.

Oh, and global warming and the severity of the weather and
transformation of the seasons........

Lily, all of these things have happened before. As far as the number of
people suffering today seems more in line with the number of poeple
living today than in the past. So many world cultures, today, tend to
have more middle class, even if it's not called that. This means that
more poeple are living a better quality of life than ever before.
Consider every war in just the last 200 years alone. Do you realize
that in the civil war, a war fought ONLY in our country, mainly among
ourselves had death tolls of upwards of 20 to 30 THOUSAND in many single
battles.
Consider the flu epidemic in the early 1900's that killed millions. The
flue! Consider plague, pestilence, hunger. We consider Hitler the
worst of attocities, but Stalin murdered more poeple than Hitler.

I would certainly agree that we are setting up and economy, worldwide,
whose nature seems more delicate with each new technology, with each new
nation to nation confrontation. But the way we live, the lifestyle of
the world in general is greater than ever before in history. These
reasons give us more to fear, for we have more to loose than ever
before. The end days, may simply mean an end to what we're used.
History repeats, it just seems different because it's "us".

As for morals, I disagree with you. I think we are struggling to attain
a world morality, this is not a sign of degredation, or deviancy, this
is a sign that so many more people today desire community. The struggle
for this involves the kind acceptance and tolerance that we ignored
throughout history. We ignored it because we could move on. Move to
another land another country, because there was so little difference,
other than language. Americans came here. We are running out of places
to hide, the only thing left is to seek peace, is extend acceptance and
tolerance and sometimes to force it away from the hand of tyrany.

I have hope for the world and living as if you are in the last days,
does not accomadate that hope. For who would continue to fight for air
purity, for organic food, for less drugs, for safer communities, for
better health insuranse, for better living conditions,if we all lived as
though we believed the end was near?

Personally, I think one should worry more about something like a comet
smacking into the earth or biological plagues than about the Usual
Suspects (declining morals and church attendance, et alia) as bringing
about the end of life as we know it.

YMMV....

I agree totally with you KerryO - that's why I have always been against
deferring funding away from Nasa - to find the technology that will help
us defend our planet against the forces of nature.

At the same time, we need to be researching ways to get away from the
awful polution we are depositing within our atmosphere.

Less war, let's find a new meaning for the word ally, let's join forces
with other countries, not for war but for peace. That's my theory,
anyway.
