Always Always take time......it's like with all things new...it seems so bright and shiny and fun and great....and then after awhile the real person comes out....whom may creep you out....or who you find has nothing in common with you....slow slow slow.....especially when your worth the wait.

I like to wait a little to meet too and the first meeting is always coffee or something casual like that. That way it is still just chatting only face to face. I wonder if the reason why some of these of these people are so eager is because they are frustrated - we the posts about it all the time. I'll go ahead and say "slow down." If he's got good intentions he usually understands. As for talking about sex right away, it looks like you are just trying to protect yourself Trout, but most women are trying to do the same thing. Bringing up sex that early is usually a good indicator that we are dealing with a pervert. This is the voice of reason. |

I'm just curious, because the local guys I receive emails from are in such a rush to meet. Almost all of them are the same. I see no harm in waiting a week or two in order to chat a bit first. Most local guys seem to think differently, though. When I have met locals from dating sites (nine in all), I waited anywhere from 2 weeks to a whole year to meet in person. As a general rule, the quicker I met someone, the more horrible the experience turned out to be. I would no longer be open to meeting someone from a dating site. |
