Why do we see the need to destroy what we dont understand? Why do we seek vengence without regard? Why do we feel the need to be governed? Why do we continue to believe in fairy-tales? Why is it that we learned to destroy ourselves long before we would become rational and logical? Just a few questions i have, maybe the answers are the cure for the idiocracy that is man-kind

It is much easier to be weak and give into the dark side of our human nature than it is to be strong, stand up for what we believe in, and speak the truth even if we know no one wants to hear it frown

Integrity is the cure, if only it could be physically injected into every human being flowerforyou

Humans are herd minded creatures for as much as we want to think we are so independent. What does not conform to our herd mind or cannot be controlled "should" be destroyed.

What we are facing is a turning point in our evolution as to whether or not we actually do become something better or we just remain as the pathetic fear driven animals we are.

The problem is that most humans do not martial their fear very well. Religion, Politics, and the media all play into this and manipulate us through our fear mostly. Then they go after our our comfort. Then our desires.

I also have a theory called "Sheep Syndrome" which goes like this. When you start to crowd people together they become innately stupider and easier to manipulate. Their ability to reason and their self image switches from "What I want" to "What will make me fit in better." Many people will give up their own personal identity to the crowd.

Part of it is people feel safer in numbers also.

I agree, to further extrapolate....we feel the need to be governed because we need a sense of structure in our lives. We learned to destroy ourselves long ago because we are self aware, we are the only species to commit suicide other than lemmings, and they do so only because of instinct.

And yes I see so many people who claim they're "independent" follow and conform to society / the crowd. We seek the need to destroy what we don't understand because of our frustration with the inability to understand (which is our own shortcoming) and the fear of the unknown.

Many of us live in our own personal little "bubbles of life" and continue on our merry way oblivious to what goes on around us and what's really important.

Sound like a misanthropic rant there. Kinda odd to quote MLK at the end though.

Maybe privitive anarchism is your political philosophy?

It's not idiotic, it's an example of how our behaviors were shaped by evolution for a hunter gatherer time period.

If you were a caveman sitting at home with the rest of your little group and saw another group coming toward you...most likely they weren't coming over to play some Yahtzee, they were coming over to bash your head in with a rock and take your women and food.

People like to peer through history with glasses that are seemingly so rosy tinted as to be opaque. The people who inhabit the earth today are far more civilized than any other time in our history.

People are social animals, you had a better chance of survival if you stayed with the pack. I guess I conform to society because I choose to go to work and make money instead of hunting for my food and trying to build a house with my own bare hands. If you truly have a distaste for governance than try living without running water, electricity or any other modern convenience. Without the stability of rules and laws we would not have the security nor would we all pool our resources to create inventions, art, knowledge, etc.

Don't let the media bad news get you down. In my lifetime the vast majority of strangers have treated me just fine, they either leave me alone, or we have a pleasant little chat. I've helped strangers fix a flat tire and I've been helped out of a bind by a stranger before. And I live in Philadelphia.

Oh, MLK seemed to know what he was talking about... However, as for me, it does matter who's on top -- That's my favorite position!

... And if you disagree, I suggest you GET OFF MY BACK! ! !********

Yes this could be seen as a trend in evolution but the divide between smart people and stupid idiots is growing larger. Example, a survey was conducted where people had to find nations on a map. A horrendous number had no clue Luxembourg was a country and many could not even identify Iceland. That was just geography (this survey was conducted in America.) We have better education than many nations but does it pay off? Only about 10% of students actually retain any of it after HS. A lot of Americans cannot do a lot of things for themselves like fix their own cars let alone their own computers.

I think a lack of hunger and motivation drive the way we learn, think, and act. When everything is handed to you yo don't need to learn to get it for yourself. How many Americans could kill their own food let alone butcher it?

When man had to fight to survive most learned how to make arrows and other goods to fend for themselves. Now if the poop hit the fan many of those lost survival skills would have to be relearned. What percentage of Americans alone do you think have the chops to survive a real disaster let alone organize enough to get over the whole conformity issue? Think Salem Massachusetts circa 1780... How smart were they? We are talking about people blinded by superstition and fear. Today say SEX and watch Americans get all weird about it. I see a trend where our population is dividing between the troglodytes and the elite. I remember a story where a society did gradually become divided like that and they wiped themselves out in a civil war between the elites and the workers. the workers killed the elites and without someone to give them direction they turned on themselves. I wish to god I could remember the title of that story. It fits this topic like paint on a fine woman's backside! The author is sort of obscure.

Why do we see the need to destroy what we dont understand?

Why do we seek vengence without regard?

Why do we feel the need to be governed?

Why do we continue to believe in fairy-tales?

Why is it that we learned to destroy ourselves long before we would become rational and logical?

Why do we see the need to destroy what we dont understand?

Cockroaches are hideous nasty disease carrying creatures. They have been around longer than humans and were here before the dinosaurs. They will be here long after we are all gone. They could be an intelligent society of the underworld for all I know. I don't understand them or their purpose.

I step on them without mercy.

Maybe if I understood them I wouldn't? Probably not. They may be out to take over the world.

Why do we seek vengence without regard?

Not all of us do.

Why do we feel the need to be governed?

Humans have been engineered as slaves for the race of people who tampered with their DNA. They have always been governed, and it is all they know. They are trying to break free.

Why do we continue to believe in fairy-tales?

Because fairies really do exist.bigsmile

Why is it that we learned to destroy ourselves long before we would become rational and logical?

Some have, some haven't. We are learning to thrive. We all grow at different levels and rates. Don't judge everyone the same way.

Mankind is a wonder. A sentient being in an amazing body. What is an idiocracy is your negative attitude.

If you want to change the world you have to start with YOURSELF. That is where you are.

Otherwise you are just one of the many complainers.
