I truly DO think that the person who started this thread came on WAY TOO STRONG, but I get the impression she was really being criticized for not liking motorcycles or bikers. IF I am correct about this, then y'all might as well start hurling the insults at me, too..... because...... I don't like motorcycles.... ...and.... I don't particularly care for the company of those who ride them.......what i understand is she didnt like getting pictures all the time of bikes and said it didnt impress her or others, talking about just the bike To each his own, YANNO ?????!!!!?????? ahhhh Pete. I don't think it was that someone doesn't like bikes or bikers....IMO it was more of the assumption that it's a mid-life crisis or riding for other reasons |

i particulary dont like bikes, but that might be cause i dont know how to ride and when i tried a moped once i couldnt control it any way id be all over the sidewalks and hitting people, safer for me to take bus

So some guys like motorbikes,it's not like they are hurting anyone is it, you make it sound like they have pictures of themselves clubbing seal pups Those damned seal cubs had it coming!!!!! Toot...got a room full of harley showbike trophies that the family has owned...(we do custom show bikes) it is just a bike..most of them s*ck, especially the ones from AMF and the late 80's....they were dogs with fleas. But, people love that old crap..I say it ain't a bad thing to love crappy stuff...Hell, I still got a pair of 70's bell bottoms, some 80's parachute pants and a Vanilla Ice Remix... Crappy old things are cool! i love bikes and i love to ride. |

Way toooooooooooo funny for I'm seriously thinking about getting one myself and hell I'm 50 I could careless why some would think the reason for one to ride a bike. I assure you they don't get them due to what others think but due to what they want themselves.  Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and I'm not a guy!! So more power to those that ride and enjoy what they do.....

Even though I don`t own or ride a bike. I have friends that own bikes. We always have a great time.

I have to say I am 55, and bikes are just cool, they bring out the wild side and somehow make you feel free when you ride them, I can understand how people fall in love with them. It's just as bad as being in a Lexus, different strokes for differnt folks.

it's true that some guys are trying to overcompensate for thinning hair, a flabby gut or equipment shortcomings, but there are others that truly enjoy the wind rushing past them, the sun on their back or the thrill of doing 90mph on 2 wheels next to a semi truck on the highway. my brother-in-law always wanted a nice custom chopper but he couldn't afford one until recently. he's a little over 30 and isn't trying to impress women (he better not be since he's married to my sister. ha). he's just enjoying something he's always wanted.
that's not to say it can't look goofy sometimes. if you have a skullet (bald on top but long in the back... ) you're just asking for it. there's a difference between being an old guy on a bike and being an old guy using a bike to desperately hold onto his youth. when you see a guy riding his harley to work in a nice suit on a 100+ degree day, you know that's an enthusiast, not a wannabe. he loves to ride...or he had to sell his car to buy the bike...ha
