okay I'll start---

I remember as a kid running around a really pretty
park near where we lived ,and playing on the swings and monkey bars for hours!
Then her parents grilled hamburgers and hotdogs on one of the parks
grills...we sat at a huge picnic table and ate till we were stuffed..

then laughed and played until it was dark -then her dad gave us sparklers while we watched fireworks....bigsmile we had so much fun that day...I never forgot it:heart:

All of the neighborhood kids would make instruments out of stuff around the house...then we had our own parade! Sounds stupid in writing now but it was always a great day...in the evening we would all go to the fireworks.

Oh God....we were Polish....

I was 8 or 9....Dad thought he would save money on fireworks and just ignite paints and chemicals he used.....

So, the relatives gathered..and Dad lit the toilet paper.....leading to milk jugs half filled with naptha, and gasoline....)

Only Polish people can fail to ignite toilet paper.....
absolutely nothing caught fire...
welcome to my world....

As a kid going with family to the bay and watch fireworks, as a teen, my first "intimate encounter" was on 4th of July.

Last year, in da UP, MI, with 30-40 friends from online

I have an American flag with a message from all the people there written on it. Will never forget that one!

Never celebrated it before, obviously, though it is my dads birthday as well.

Fourth of July has always been lucky for me. Met nice people. Ate great food. Enjoyed the skyworks. Hope it holds true this year. Hope all the Mingle folks have a great holiday.

Well, my best fourth of July memories are all spent with my beautiful son, lighting sparklers, and eating picnic stuff.

My favorite memory as a child is my parents took me to Disney World on the fourth of July.

We stayed at his bosses vacation home which is only a few miles from the park, and we went like 5 days in a row.

I got to swim when I wanted at the pool, and meet all kinds of new kids, and I was in absoloute heaven going to the Disney parks.

I must tell you, if you can afford it, or save for it, it is SO WORTH IT!!!

Kids feel on top of the world when we treat them special, and make them wonderful memories. I will always remember mine, and have a special place to go in my mind because my parents took the time to help make my dreams come true.
