am i the only one who notices that SOME of you guys gang up on newbies?
whether it be for perceived rudeness toward a friend (in which case there is a double standard because there is no backlash when the experienced minglers are rude to newbies) or because they posted a thread that may have been done before many times but is new to them... the reasons vary but i've noticed an air of condescension sometimes... just wondering what you guys thought... maybe i'm crazy?  (i'm not sure if this thread is against the rules, if it is i apologize) |

i'll gang up on someone with 50,000 posts too if i feel they've insulted a friend.
i don't let stuff like that go by in real life, why would i online? |

Actually it has borderline happened to me, but I just back out before it gets worse. its all good... |

I don't think there is a thread on here that hasn't been posted before at one time or another. But some folks seem to have a real thin skin and can't take a joke, while others are in it just for laughs.

I often wonder why some folks sign on and their first "hello I'm new" post does well, and others get malingned.
I watched the threads (lurked) a bit before I started posting. I didn't charge in like I owned the place, complaining that 'gee no one contacts me after a wk' Mingle does have a tendancy to eat it's young. Leaving only the strong to survive.

I mainly say the same thing every time I greet a newbie. Sometimes I add a little advice. I haven't really paid attention to the gang up...maybe on members that are too cocky...but that's it.
