To ask a girl to lose some weight?

Unless your wife, then no.

You think telling a WIFE would be any more wise???

Wow. slaphead

I don't think he's married.

Just a guess.

Good guess!

And let's say I marry someone who looks great, then gains a lot of weight a few years down the road?

You don't think I would say anything just to be "nice" ? No way, i'm gonna say what I want to say and how I feel about it, I ain't gonna hide my feelings!

Here is what I do. I show her a dress (a few size smaller, with an innocent face) , that "Honey, you'd look so great in these, why don't you wear it?" and then she would probably say "Yeah, but i don't fit in that!"

And then I would say, "ohh, I'm sorry, i really don't know about these sizes and I didn't mean to say anything about that, but you do agree that you would look fantastic in it!".

Leave the subject at that state, don't bring it up...and let her to her thoughts..bigsmile

Yeah. Great idea.

Leave her to her thoughts.

Most of those thoughts are going to involve how much of your stuff she's going to take and how much she's gonna leave you after the divorce.

Don't do that, Atlantis.noway laugh

why not? psychological pressure and she can't even blame me..

Hey look, If i fallen in love with someone who looks different down the road and somehow I feel different towards her, what do you prefer?

Hide my feelings and pretend that nothing has changed or somehow get herself noticed?

Now, bear in mind, it goes for people who have a preference regarding weight, and finds himself less attracted. it would be his duty to make it known, if you ask me, or keep pretending and playing superficial games and end up with deteriorated love life or even a violent divorce down the road, because that's what would happen.

Psychological pressure? That's not a healthy relationship.noway

When you fall in love with someone, you love them no matter what.

Do you think that you're going to be all that and a bag of chips when you get older?

I have not read past the first page, so forgive me if I touch on somethign already mentioned.

Is it rude to just come out and say you need to lose weight? I don't care how long you ave known, dated, slept with, been married, etc it is rude.

HOWEVER, if it is a serious issue for you, and for some it may be due to health concerns (worried about the ladies health I mean), then try something tactful like suggesting that you were thinking of joining a gym, and was wondering if she would help you work out, or make sure yuo maintained the discipline in going. Make it into a request of joining you, WITHUOT COMING OUT AND SAYING SHE NEEDS TO LOSE WEIGHT!

I will repeat a good suggestion from page one; suggest energetic dates; even if hse is three hundred pounds over weight, just go slow with it, as someone that is out of shape can get serioiusly hurt if they try to do too much too fast.

That sounds like a lot of work, and the women here seem to be able to see right thru that kind of stuff.

Maybe it would just be easier to tell her she's fat.

I think honesty is important. If you can't be real with someone, what do you have...
There are ways to have a tactful conversation if you really love and care about someone and you see them going downhill, whether it's weight, drinking, or any other issue that might really bother you. If you do it in a loving way and help them to get better because you care, they should be able to feel that.
JMO though.

No...but hey, you really taking all this to the heart aren't you? Look, a couple falls in love. down the road the guy isn't as attracted anymore, because she gained a lot of weight. I guess you'd prefer him to live in a lie and tell her that she is beautiful.

Now wonder there are so many singles. Living fake relationships. You also missed the point, that if a guy would somehow indicate that he isn't perfectly fine with it, then most likely the reason he would say because he Loves her and not because he wants to make fun of her.

very well put, and from what I have seen here, most people ar enot taking honesty into account. Now I do NOT suggest sheer bluntness lol unLESS you want to die you ng and painfully lol, but there are a lot of ways to broach the subject and handle it tactfully and lovingly.

An "I love me jacket" is a jacket with extra long sleeves that tie in the back allowing you to hug yourself forever, or until they are untied ;-) Also known as a stright jacket rofl
