So what do you do, when someone comes along, brighter, prettier, funnier, smarter than you?

What if you were in a quasi work/social setting....and had a position of management, and some new upstart appears.....cheeky, funny, playful....and instantly your previous 'fan base' disappears?

How do you manage that?

What about those people who just grate on your nerves? Whose opinions, and ways just irritate you?

Do you get them sacked?

Complain to the big boss about every minor misdemeanour?

Or do you rise above it.... and try harder to be funnier, smarter, brighter and win back your fan base?

Hahahaha I see it all the time.

Someone gets handed a badge and some accolades, and Hey Presto! they think they are the duck's nuts....until someone else meanders in who is not a try hard with self esteem issues.

I never think about anyone being superior to me.. I dont know why if in fact someone did why it would matter. There is no competition, everyone is unique.

I just dont spend time with jerk off people. If I dont like someone, i dont let them stick around long enough to get on my nerves, THATS not good for the soul.

HOWEVER if I did sit around thinking I was inferior.. it would most likely make me uglier than someone who wasnt so interested in impressing others.

There's this little bloke at the place I work.... a nobody.... not really great at anything... and surly with it...

he is a self appointed boss/manager and loves finding fault in every and any one around.

he creates little traps.... and then runs to the boss.

His swaggering arrogance is hilarious!

And of course I find him incredibly stupid.... and so bait the crap out of him...his self esteem issues are so obvious....the way he covertly and sneakily goes about fine printing the rules on everything...and then yelling 'AH Ha!' you did something wrong!

And yet he does the same crap......over and over and over....

talk about arbitrary and discriminitive behaviours.

and all because I dont play his game of sucking up his arse.... I just do my job, laugh, and have a good time....he gets all spastic and runs to the boss.

I am just me. There will always be someone perceived as funnier, smarter, prettier. Doesn't make me less though. And my "fan-base" likes me for me.bigsmile

We're funny creatures us humans...

I see it here also ....

this elite-ism mentality that sets in.

I'm consistantly a b* tch...(in a select few's eyes).... so am neither above or beneath any one...

I find the moment someone takes on a self appointed air of 'authority'.....their focus narrows, and they wait..... for just the finest hair's breadth infringement...then pounce!

Same as the bloke at work.

I dont think I will ever understand people....

Noone has to like anyone, but in a work situation with a guy like this.. from my experience, its always bad to make yourself stick out like a sore thumb in any situaation.

Thank God for Karma, and Ill bet you even the big boss will become hip to his antics, and get sick of them.

Luckily.. in the workplace, there is a system of equalization, and ill bet you eventually, as I have seen as usual.. this guy will become more unpopular as ever, and his cutting his nose off to spite his face will see its day.

Or, hell get richer than you, and never die.. like all of the other buttholes. laugh

The ONLY person I compete with is myself. I do the best job that I can on the job, and off, and if I can I try to be a little better each day. Learning a new skill, perfecting and old one.

If someone gets on my nerves I try to figure out why and then do what I can to let it go. I don't have to like everyone in the world to live my life or do my job. I don't see coworkers as friends but I respect them as team mates.

As far as hassleing someone in the work place because they are prettier, more competent, more popular; not going to happen. Good people above or below you helps you look good. Fireing and incompetent, disruptive, abusive employee? Do it without a second thought.

Luckily in the workplace the owner boss is a mate of mine...we've been friends for 8 years....he knows it's water off a duck's back with the little self appointed hitler to me...

However, for those not so sure of themselves....having people like the surly little bloke at work.... can really do some damage.

Positions of power are delusional at the best, and dangerous at the worst.

Those who choose to use their position of management for their own twisted reasons, come unstuck.

Sounds like he has a brown nose(er) already. He will dig himself a hole to where he can not get out.

I'm one of those that will help the next person when it comes to work that is until they stab me in the back. If they tend to try to set me up then I will sit back and give them the extra rope they need and watch them hang...... A few times I have covered for guys at work and had them stab me in the back hummm well I no longer covered for them and left it wide open for the boss to see what they were doing. To me no one is better then the next person and if they are trying to step on others just to climb the ladder I will help weaken the steps just to watch them fall. devil

You are the type of person I love to watch play cat and mouse with someone of inferior wit.

I think anyone surrounded by such a "bloke" already knows that person's MO: they are the whistle blowing butt kisser. Their sense of superiority is false and it's only a matter of time before their Potemkin Village falls! winking
