I don't use it...but I think legalize. It would create tax dollars to go toward the debt. But I think it should have the same restrictions as cigarettes or alcohol

Tax revenue. As good a reason as any. It's a double standard that alcohol & tobacco are legal but weed isn't. Lobbyists?

Sorry. But having a bunch of potheads stoned out of their gourds driving around in 2000 pound vehicles is not going to lower MY stress level one bit.

True, but neither does alcohol. I'm pretty sure the authorities would as they already do now apply DUI laws to people driving while stoned.

Here in Denver voters legalized medical marijuana last year.It has turned Denver into a drug haven.Marijuana dispensaries are everywhere with some blocks having 4 or 5 shops. You can't ignore the signs for these buildings as they have big signs with marijuana leafs and names like "Dr.Pot".Advertising is all over the papers with big ads for marijuana. The city has said it has received hundreds of new permits in just a single month for marijuana despenserices.Needless to say some of these stores have already been robbed with the criminals using guns.It makes the city look ugly and unattractive.

Another problem with marijuana is it works hand and hand with other drugs such as acid, cocaine, meth, and other drugs. The legalization of marijuana invites drug dealers from all over the globe to come to Denver as they know if there is alot of people smoking marijuana who also use other drugs.Look into the history of any city who has lack drug laws.Crime and drug overdoses never go down they always go up.

I was going to cite the Amsterdam/Dutch example, then I read this article:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug_policy_of_the_Netherlands

Apparently their 1976 ruling isn't going so well over there.

Everyone and I do mean everyone I have ever met that has smoked marijuanna has also done at least one if not all the harder drugs at least once in their lifetime. If you have even just 1,000,000 new people a year who are trying harder drugs just once every year you have a hell of a drug problem.

The #1 cash crop for drug dealers overseas is marijuanna. It's hardly a harmless drug.Innocent people are getting their heads cut off by drug dealers in Mexico over marijuanna and people here in the United states are giving them money to do it!

I am for decriminalizing it. I am not sure of what legalizing it would involve. I dont believe it should be endorsed but I also dont think it should be considered criminal.

A fair question for you and I am just trying to continue this rather interesting topic: Is marijuana really a "gateway" drug as we have heard? Or is that just myth and media spin? I'm not saying everyone should go out and fill garbage bags with greens, but what about a personal use possession limit like 5 ounces or less? And if not that, then what about limiting it to medical purposes only?

people just want to get fukced up

it doesn't matter if its alcohol or weed or meth

they are all intoxicants

if you allow alcohol and not marijuana then you're just forcing preferences

Yeah, but alcohol can be just another drink and not necessarily lead to intoxication. Marijuana is going to intoxicate,, thats the point.

Still, you raise a good point. I suppose if alcohol is going to be endorsed the way it is,, MJ should have its shot as well...
