yeah, I like pets too, had dogs my whole life. As a mother who has carried two children however, I have a hard time seeing the similarity or comparing the two types of 'children'. My ex used to always go there with 'would you do this to your child or do that with your child' in reference to our dog. I didnt appreciate it much.

A baby child is MUCH more defenseless and dependent than any dog,,pack animal or not.

No... because I've had such a large variety of pets, it really doesn't shake me.

I had a boyfriend who had a female cat that would go into heat and attack me to the point of my legs bleeding. He refused to spend the money to get her fixed at the vet.
We are no longer together...not only for this reason though.

I'm good with a person with animals. Don't see the point in roaches, however. Love snakes, but not willing to feed them. Love rats and mice more.

However, I get tired of those with "convienent" animals, especially dogs. It's convienent to have them around, but okay to board them all of the time if vacationing. My dogs have always vacationed with me.

I also get tired of those who don't take care of their animals, like Cutie mentioned, not spay/neutering them. An intact any animal is a waste. Especially with the amount of work I do with rescue.

I have to totally agree, my dog and I are so bonded and well I am a package deal. Not something I will even entertain the thought of changing. We are constant companions, she goes to work with me etc.

I was thinking of going to visit a friend in Aussie land.. Hand to change plans I was trying to get my dog to stay with my friend a bit like over night. She loves this person til I got out of her sight then not so happening. She went through horrible seperation anxiety.Vet told me to deal with it.

I did look up that Bird spider there is now way I could cope with that. I don't do spider's, snakes and a lot of other creepy crawly things.

Of course it says something about them. Obviously they like animals.

If you think about, is it really "normal" to have a pet? All I'm saying is you never hear wild animals talking about how "smart their human is", or posting on the internet pics of their pet person sleeping in their nest/den.

Ya it would be totally weird 2 find out smeone has more than 2 of any animal especially if they hit double digits lol

But wat totally annoys me is if someone cares more for their pet than me or humanity in general... u know the guy who loves his dog so much tht if he had 2 choose between u or the dog it would be that's right the dog...

What's the difference between saying I'd choose my animals over you, vs I'd choose so-n-so over you? The human factor? What makes any one person worth saving, especially a total stranger?

Sorry, I'm taking all of my animals over people. I know very few people worth saving, and those who I do know and like acknowledge that I'd choose the animals over them. Heck, they're the type that would put their animals before me, so it works fine.

Somehow I think those claws would be really bad, then!

Or, what if they were to spay/ neuter us?

Now I'm freaking out!

not just cats, but any animal. when I have a pet I love it, but realize it's just an animal that I can live with or without..
