i dated a woman who had a rat....didnt like it in bed with us but otherwise it was ok

Yeah me and my cats are a package deal. If there a burning building and I could only save one, I would choose my pet over another person. It's up to the person to save them self, my cats do not have that choice.

They are a member of my Family, my fur family.

Now here is an interesting thought: Would you get involved with someone who has a normal amount of animals (1-3) if you also had 2-3 pets, knowing that if things got serious and you moved in together you would have the pet zoo as a home?

If you love dogs and they love cats, can you make it work? Would you want to pursue the relationship knowing the pets will not get along so unless one of you get rid of your pet/pets the relationship can never reach the next level? Would you want to date someone who is willing to get rid of there pet so easily?

I have chickens and rabbits. They are pets until it's butcherin' time.

I lucked out a few months ago. Someone dumped a dog that looks like a beagle wiener cross. Took a while to catch her and she stayed tied up outside for a few days.

Decided one night to bring her in and tied her near the door. While I was in the house, I let her loose. Didn't take long to realize she was house broke and would come let me know she needed to go out. Now, she has her bed at the foot of my bed.

Another had a cat that would crap outside of the litter box sometimes...and the house always smelled. Could not do that either.

I love pets but be clean about it and conscious of others when they come over....I have 2 dogs and they are well trained.

I've always had cats and dogs, and a mix of animals.

They ARE just like kids in that you have to watch them. Shrugs.

But they can co-exist, and usually better then family members. My cats usually smacked the crap out of the dogs, and the dogs minded their manners. I have a parrot who would climb up on the PBPig and pop her bristles, and the pig would flop over because she liked the claws scratching her skin. The rabbit that I had would snuggle against the blind rooster when they were out in the X-pen together. The rabbit and the dogs would play tag in the house, and the fireplace was timeout for Cadbury. I had a horse save me from another horse, from quicksand, and from a couple of creepy men. I'd have the rat playing on the couch, with the parrot looking down and squawking.

But they were never just left without supervision! And when bad things happen, that's usually the reason why. No one keeping an eye on them all.

My brother-in-law has a dog ( I foget the breed) that is trained to watch the cats. When I lived with my sister and him, they had two cats and the dog, and I had my cat. My cat and their cats would play, and we would call out the dogs name and say "get the kitty", and should would put her face in the cats face and wag her tail, the cats didn't like that, so they would starighen up. Or, when they were playing too much, she would bark and they would behave. It was the funniest thing.

The only cats I ever had a problem with were my mother's 4 Queens. Yep four of a kind, Queens. She refused to get any of them fixed, and they go into heat and pee and vomit all over the place. The only time the queens gave me the time of day was whenever they were in heat. The rest of the time, they either ran or hissed at me. It was because of this I learned more insight into human female behavior.
