I fail to see the huge advantages of it. Whatever happened to just calling?

Well sometimes you are in a place where you have to be real quite, like when you are hunting wabbits, then you can talk to your best pal, the taz devil and not scare the wabbit.

It has many uses.
I can text multiple people at once.
Sometimes I don't want to hear people's voices.
And sometimes, as a comedian said, I kinda want to just deliver a single message without any feedback.

"I'll be there in ten."

All that's needed!

Well, for me, it's a matter of cost. I have 700 minutes per month I can talk on the phone, which I use to talk to my kids. I have unlimited texting that I use to keep in touch with everyone else. It's economical. And convenient, too. I can make dinner and clean house while still carrying on a conversation using texting.

Oh, yeah! Another advantage. I have unlimited texts and only know two people that don't have texting.

I LOVE texting. I can answer at my convenience and the convo doesn't have to go on and on

Also lots of times you can message but not be vocal (ie in offices etc .. )

It has it's advantages and disadvantages. For me I use to hate to text but it is the only way I can keep in touch with my granddaughters mom when she is at work and I need to tell her something since Kaitlynn is with me...........

I'm totally against it while driving......noway noway

I also us it to tell my daughter something while she is working....

But over all I prefer talking on the phone... Use to not text at all but have gotten better at it. There are times it is necessary

What I do like is I can text from yahoo to their phones as well hehehe gotta love the short cuts

But..........I will not carrying on a conversation if they are not at work by texting they can call me then.......whoa

In Colorado it is illegal to text while driving .. so no choice on that one. That's incredibly unsafe and stupid. noway

I have no problems with texting or talking on the phone. Some people I talk to more, some people I text more.

And it's funny I saw a guy riding a bike no handed texting. Run right in the back of a parked car. Wish I had a camera.

I think it's great...especially when there is someone that may have certain traits that annoy you when talking to them...for instance they say "ummm" every other word...lol. For some reason they don't do that when texting? The only time I get frustrated with texting is when I have a lot to say or I am mad and then my fingers don't go fast enough so I will call em....ohwell

Texting is impersonal. If a guy I am interested in tries to text me rather than calling - I dump his stupid butt! laugh

Exception: If in a situation where talking on the phone is rude and I have to send a quick message like, "be there in 10 min". winking

I hate talking on the phone... seems like I'm constantly having to repeat myself or ask them to repeat what they just said... texting I can do at my leisure during my busy day

If you want me....text me. If you call.....leave a message after the beep and I may get back to you....or I just might text you to see what you wanted. laugh
